Chris Solari Detroit Free Press Published 6:20 PM EST Nov 10, 2018 EAST LANSING — Chris Solari rates the 24th-ranked Spartans on a scale of 1 to 10 after their 26-6 against No. 8 Ohio State on Saturday: Offense: 2 There was nothing to like as the Spartans failed to score a touchdown against Ohio State for the second straight season. Brian Lewerke started and continued to struggle throwing the ball. Rocky Lombardi came in and gave an instant jolt at the end of the first half, only to have the offense commit turnovers on back-to-back plays in the fourth quarter that led to 10 points for the Buckeyes. MSU ran the ball only 18 times, with their 54 yards rushing nearly all coming on Lombardi’s designed QB run that went for 47 yards. MSU did have two bright spots on offense. The first was Cody White’s eight-catch, 115-yard game. The other was a second straight sack-free performance by the offensive line. However, coach Mark Dantonio said afterward that MSU cannot win by throwing the ball 48 times and running only 18 times.
