Traffic is queuing on the A14 eastbound near Bury St Edmunds Picture: HIGHWAYS ENGLAND The crash is causing mass tailbacks and gridlocks on the A14 between junction 42 and 43 near Bury St Edmunds. Suffolk police were first called to junction 43 of the A14 at 1.50pm after reports of a HGV on fire. Four fire engines arrived soon after to tackle the flames, two from Bury, one from Haverhill and one from Ixworth. They are currently using hose reels to douse the flames. The driver of the HGV is out and receiving first aid. The lorry was reportedly empty. Highways England expect the road to clear between 4.30pm and 4.45pm.
