German-based Football Transfers site claimed on Friday evening the Canaries are in the race for the midfielder, who is set to leave Hannover after their relegation from the Bundesliga. SC Freiburg and FC Augsburg are both tracking the 29-year-old, who has made 25 appearances this season, but there is reportedly interest from Daniel Farke’s Canaries in the former Paderborn, Dortmund II and Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder. Bakalorz is out of contract this summer but FT suggest he will reject the opportunity to stay at Hannover who complete their Bundesliga season at Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday. LIKELIHOOD City’s ability to tap the German market has been one of the cornerstones of Norwich’s success under Farke and sporting director Stuart Webber. Philip Heise arrived from Dynamo Dresden in January after originally being earmarked for a move this summer. Bakalorz is a combative, experienced campaigner who has been operating in the Bundesliga for the past two seasons. Given he is available on a free transfer this is one to keep tabs on.
