It seems like years since Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse lifted the Glitterball Trophy when they won 2019’s Strictly Come Dancing series – after all, look what’s happened to the world since then.
And while the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage on, BBC bosses will be hoping the situation has improved enough by the end of summer that this year’s Strictly season can start.
Under the current social distancing guidelines, the gruelling rehearsals – which usually begin in September – would be banned, as the celebrities would not be permitted to be up close and personal with the professional dancers.
Nor would they be encouraged to make non-essential journeys from their homes to their rehearsing studios.
And the live audience who cheer on the couples from the Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire wouldn’t be allowed at all, should the government keep the current lockdown guidance in place this autumn.
But leaving all that aside, which famous faces could be pirouetting their way onto the dancefloor later this year?
Let’s take a look at all the Strictly Come Dancing 2020 line-up rumours swirling…
Heads of the BBC talent show have been in touch with Victoria and David Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn, 21, according to the Mail On Sunday.
He’s believed to be top of their list as they move to sign up stars ahead of the show’s return in the autumn.
A source told the publication: “Brooklyn would be a dream signing for Strictly. He is being written about absolutely everywhere.
“He has a huge social media following and would raise the profile of the show, not just in the UK, but also in America…”
However, the publication reports Brooklyn might not accept the offer because of his reserved character and lack of dancing experience.
Love Island beauty Molly-Mae is being tipped for the Strictly dancefloor.
The 21-year-old, who is in a relationship with boxer Tommy Fury after they met on the show, is one of the hot new favourites after the ‘ban’ on reality stars was lifted.
Betting agents say the odds of Molly-Mae waltzing onto the dancefloor this year are 3-1.
Coral’s John Hill said: “Molly-Mae was one of the stars of Love Island in 2019 and our betting suggests her next challenge could come on the Strictly dance floor this year.
“Although we wouldn’t rule out Molly-Mae from shining up the dance floor, she is not amongst the early favourites to lift the Glitterball Trophy.”
Gemma Collins is tipped to join the show according to the latest betting odds.
In fact, they’ve placed her at odds of almost 50/50 convinced she will be joining the line-up alongside rumoured names including Mrs Hinch, Jack P. Shepherd and Stacey Solomon.
According to Coral bookmakers, Gemma is at odds of 4/5 to make an appearance.
Coral’s John Hill told Mirror online: “Gemma Collins is no stranger to television entertainment shows and our betting clearly now suggests the TOWIE star is set to appear on Strictly this year.”
He added: “Collins is an outsider to win the Glitterball Trophy, however, such is her popularity, we expect her to make a deep run on the show.”
Lady Colin Campbell
Lady C recently admitted that she would do any public appearance in order to pay for the running of her lavish home, Castle Goring.
Speaking to the Express, the socialite was asked about a Strictly sting and suggested a hefty payout could sway her.
“I will consider anything that pays enough to assist with the running of Castle Goring,” she told the publication.
“I make no bones about it. I do all the public appearances, I do them purely for Castle Goring.”
The television star is also not unknown to reality TV and has even appeared on I’m A Celeb in the past.
The One Show host Angellica Bell is the latest rumoured celebrity for Strictly Come Dancing.
The 44-year-old presenter has admitted that she would be up for the challenge of competing on the BBC dance show.
However, she is doubtful that she would actually join the 2020 linuep if asked due to family commitments.
Angellica told The Sun: “You have to make sacrifices. I don’t have any help. I have my family and we juggle it and so it means sometimes I can’t take a job because Michael will be working that day.
“I have turned down jobs if it doesn’t work around us.”
Angellica would be far from the first presenter form The One Show to head to the ballroom with past contestants including the likes of Matt Baker and Alex Jones.
Clara, 36 – who hosts Radio One’s mid-morning show – is one of the latest rumours for the show.
A source revealed: “Clara is now a familiar BBC face and producers want her. The show wants to cast a diverse range of talent.”
Clara is said to have also impressed bosses with her co-hosting of BBC One’s coverage of the One World: At Home Together web concert in April – celebrating the work of front line NHS workers.
The source said she has not yet committed to Strictly, while she confessed she would be “honoured” to take part.
Westlife star Mark is reportedly signing up for the show, with rumours he could be part of the series’ first ever male same-sex pairing.
Mark is believed to have been approached to feature on the hit BBC reality dance show last year, but couldn’t commit due to Westlife tour plans.
And while the deadly coronavirus pandemic outbreak may have forced Westlife to abort their tour plans, a silver lining appears to be that Mark may now be available to dance on the upcoming 2020 series of the long-running show.

A show source told The Sun on Sunday: “Mark is a massive fan of Strictly, and the boys actually performed on the show last year.
“When he was first asked, he reluctantly had to decline because of the tour, but now that that’s off, he’s free to compete.
“Nearly all the celebs are now signed up, but the Beeb are really keen to make this work and get him on board last minute.”
Mrs Hinch is tipped to put on her dancing shoes, after continuing to impress fans with her cleaning hacks across lockdown.
According to Ladbrokes, the latest betting odds places Sophie at 2/1 to join the 2020 line-up.
BBC Breakfast host Dan is tipped to follow in the dancing footsteps of some of his colleagues, and take part in the latest series.
Piers Morgan’s TV rival has been placed at odds of 6/1 by Paddy Power.
The Saturdays star and former I’m A Celebrity star Vanessa is a new name thrown into the mix.
Her band mates Mollie King and Frankie Bridge have both taken part previously.
Vanessa is at odds of 8/15 and a new favourite, according to Paddy Power.
TV host Fearne is another new name recently thrown into the hat, ahead of the new series.
She was tipped to join the line-up last year, and now rumour has it she could be taking part in the 2020 series.
Fearne is currently at odds of 5/4 on Paddy Power.
Scarlett remained tight lipped but giggly when quizzed by Christine Lampard over whether she was starring on the show this year.
And it would not be her first time on the dancefloor, as she actually competed in national Latin and ballroom competitions when she was a child, winning countless trophies, and one of her famous tutors was Strictly royalty himself, Anton Du Beke.
There are a few rumours out there, it’s that time of year about you and Strictly,” said Christine, while hosting Lorraine.
“I know you were a dancer in your early days, could it be true? All I need is a yes or a no.”
Dodging the question, Scarlett, 29, gushed: “I love Strictly!
“But if not, I’ll just be there on TikKok making my own cha cha cha dance moves!”
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Baga Chipz looks set to hit the dancefloor for Strictly Come Dancing, after a major hint.
Baga tweeted: “Another TV show confirmed today. What have I let myself in for. I must be mad lol.”
Naturally, considering the intense speculation around the line-up of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing series, a number of Baga’s fans quickly posited that she would be joining the series.
Ladbrokes bookmakers are placing the Celebrity Masterchef contestant at odds of 7/2.
After winning Celebrity MasterChef, YouTube star Riyadh was tipped by bookies to star in the upcoming Strictly season.
The 29-year-old vlogging sensation could shortly be swapping the kitchen for the ballroom if the rumours are true.
Betting agency Ladbrokes has placed his odds of appearing at 4/1.
A spokesperson for the bookies added: “Riyadh could be about to swap one salsa for another with a Strictly stint on the cards for the Masterchef champ.”
Former BBC Breakfast star, like former co-star Dan Walker, is also tipped to join the show.
She recently launched her own show on Channel 4 during lockdown, While last November she welcomed a baby girl with her partner.
Steph is at odds of 2/1 to take part this year, claims Paddy Power.
After partner Joe Swash won this year’s Dancing On Ice, Stacey has hinted she’d be well up for impressing audiences on Strictly.
She recently admitted to Good Housekeeping that she’d “love to do Strictly” and is a massive fan of the show.
“I love the show, I love the outfits, the routines, and how the contestants go from one to 1,000,” she laughed.
“But I would be the one that didn’t get it… Everybody would expect me to go on this journey, but I would be persistently the same after 10 weeks! I would just stay the same!”
Emily was a huge hit on 2018’s I’m A Celebrity – and her popularity could see her take to the dance floor.
Following the cancellation of I’m A Celeb spin-off Extra Camp, Emily will no doubt have a bit more diary space at the end of the year.
Bookies Coral placed odds at 2-1 that she’d be putting on her dancing shoes, 10-1 that she’d take home the Glitterball Trophy.
Poor old Jamie was forced to pull out of last year’s series before the first episode, when a stray dance move at the red carpet launch went horribly wrong.
He was due to partner up with Oti, but was replaced by Emmerdale’s Kelvin – who went on to win with Oti.
But bosses are determined the Made In Chelsea star should come onboard again, according to reports.
“Jamie was devastated when he couldn’t carry on because of his nasty foot injury,” one source told the Sun.
“He went through a lot of physiotherapy to get well again [and] has been in contact with the BBC to confirm he’s fighting fit and that he’s more than able to take part in the next series.”
TikTok star Holly Hubert has a whopping 16 million followers on the popular video-streaming platform – and so is high on BBC bosses’ list of potential dancers.
Following the success of YouTubers Saffron Barker, 19, and Joe Suggs, 28, they are keen to appeal to the younger generation.
A source said: “Holly is the No1 target this year. The producers are obsessed with drawing in younger viewers.”
TV star Lorraine has been heavily rumoured to be appearing on the upcoming series after she was missing from her show in July.
She was replaced by Christine Lampard during her mysterious time away, and her Good Morning Britain co stars Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway dropped a massive hint that she was about to don her dancing shoes.
“Ben is peddling all sorts of rumours this morning,” Kate said.
“He says that she’s gone into a Strictly bubble. You know how they’re talking about couples having to go into bubbles because of the social distancing and the problems for Strictly Come Dancing this year?”
She then asked Christine if she had any advice for Lorraine, having taken part in the show in 2008, and Christine said it would be difficult doing Strictly with social distancing, but said she would tell her to go for it.
Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray, 46, appeared to hint at an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing when speaking with professional dancer Neil Jones in July.
When asked by Ranvir Singh about Adil taking part, Neil said: “Normally we find out when you find out!
“So, normally we’d be in rehearsals and we’d find out [and go], ‘Oh ok, how tall is this person? Where do they live, what’s going to happen?”
Then Adil cheekily said: “About 5’9!”
Adil then commented about perhaps getting some practice in before the show started properly.
“If you can get in some practice, do it,” Neil noted.
“You’re talking generally, obviously,” teased Adil.
A sly Neil grinned: “Oh, of course!”
Could this be our biggest hint yet of an addition to the line-up?
Former Coronation Street star Michelle, 32, is reportedly the biggest name in the proposed list being drawn up by Strictly bosses.
She’s certainly got the time on her hands now, having filmed her last series of Our Girl.
Mich is said to be in talks with the Beeb, with an insider telling the Sun: “Michelle ticks all the boxes. She’s glamorous, hugely popular and loves the show too.
“Producers are desperate to try and sign her up.”
Her husband Mark Wright – who was on Strictly back in 2014 – dropped a major hint earlier in 2020 when he told Radio Times Online: “Never say never, but I just think her nerves would go to another level
“She gets quite nervous, I mean I do but I’m more like, come on, let’s have it! Whenever she watches me, I’ve sent her the tape and she’s like, ‘I don’t know how you do it’.”
But Michelle is said to have ruled it out, with a source saying: “There are so many more pressing things in the pipeline that she’s more passionate about, like big drama.”
Iain Stirling is the latest celebrity to be tipped for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Now that he’s got a free schedule with no Love Island duties on the horizon, Iain may be joining the other biggest reality TV show in the UK.
Bookies now tip the comedian at 7/2 to appear on the hit BBC One show this year.
Iain will be following in the footsteps of his partner Laura Whitmore who took part in 2016 series of Strictly.
Tony Hadley is the latest celebrity who is hotly tipped to join Strictly Come Dancing this year.
The former Spandau Ballet singer, 60, is even the favourite to lift the iconic Glitterball Trophy on the ITV dance show.
Leading bookmaker Coral has slashed their odds on Tony Hadley being a contestant on Strictly’s lineup to 2-1 from 6-1.
“If the rumours are true about Tony Hadley, we could be set for television gold this year on Strictly,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“The Spandau Ballet singer has had his odds slashed by more than half over the last 24 hours.
“This could suggest he is preparing to hit the dance floor,” added Hill.
Tony now stands at a 25-1 odds to win the overall series of the iconic dance show.
Bookmaker Coral recently slashed odds to 1-2 that I’m a Celebrity winner Jacqueline would be competing on Strictly this year.
The former EastEnders actress also dropped a huge hint on social media while asking her fans what they would like to see her do in the future.
“I do this a lot but I do like to see what people want to see more of – what they would like to see me do next,” she said.
“I don’t know. I can’t think of options. Working with different brands. Make-up brands, tan brands, hair brands.
“Working Youtube, reality, reality shows. Strictly – whatever,” she added.
“I’m just curious to see what is people like to see because I always find it really interesting number one, but it’s actually good to keep on top of to make sure I’m making the right choices.”
Big Brother’s first ever winner Craig Phillips says he’s game for a go on Strictly.
When asked if he would compete on Strictly, the 48-year-old builder told Digital Spy : “Yeah, absolutely.
“I mean, my wife loves Strictly. She comes from a dancing background. She’s like, ‘Craig, you’ve got to do that. I’d love you to do it’.
“She’d love to see me dancing – to be able to dance – because I’m a bit useless when it comes to my moves.”
Strictly professional Kevin sensationally quit the show earlier this year, but he has already hinted he is eyeing up a return.
He admitted that with the coronavirus lockdown pushing back his live tour indefinitely, he is tempted to return to Strictly one day.
He told the Guardian: “I can’t leave my sister high and dry, and go back on Strictly but I don’t know. Never say never.
“I’ve made that decision [to leave Strictly] and it would feel weird if I suddenly went back again.”
Katie Price is being tipped by bookies for a place on the show after the BBC lifted their reality star ban last year.
Following a huge rise in bets that she’ll be heading for the dancefloor, bookmakers have now slashed odds from 20/1 to as short as 3/1.
If Katie does land a spot on this year’s series, she’d be following in the footsteps of her ex-husband Peter Andre, who took part back in 2015.
A spokesperson for mybettingsites.co.uk said: “Crowned as the original reality Queen, we fully expect further reality appearances from Katie.
“If the odds are anything to go by, we wouldn’t be surprised if she appears on either Strictly or I’m a Celeb.”
Katie reportedly broke her feet in an accident on holiday recently, so her Strictly potential may be put on hold.
The Body Coach Joe Wicks has seemingly shut down rumours that he’s going on Strictly.
But it’s said that isn’t stopping bosses trying to convince him.
Joe, who has been keeping the nation fit during lockdown with his daily PE lessons, says he’s got no intention of taking on Strictly’s gruelling training regime.
“I am happy being at home with Rosie, Indie and Marley and that is it.”
Will he change his mind?
Radio 1 breakfast show host Greg James has been asked to bring his cheeky personality to the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor.
The DJ shared on his breakfast show that Strictly bosses had reached out to him to appear on the series.
Greg mentioned on air: “They asked me to be on this year, did you know that?”
He then went on to add: “Yeah, I politely declined. I’m too tired, too tired for that.”
However, as the world gets closer to normal as the coronavirus pandemic continues, could Greg change his mind and feel a bit more confident in his stamina?
We think he would make an excellent addition to the show.
Graeme Swann wants another go at Strictly after saying he was “robbed” of the Glitterball trophy.
The cricketer finished seventh on the series when he was paired with Oti Mabuse in 2018, and he’s vowed to do better next time, if they’ll give him another go.
“I’ll make a comeback,” he vowed. “We were robbed. It’s not a competition, it’s a gameshow and they robbed me.
“This year they let Oti win. They put her with a far less attractive and less amusing but far better dancing partner, and they won it.
“But the ratings plummeted.”
Sky Sports pundit Jamie let slip he was going to be appearing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020.
The former Liverpool player made the slip-up in conversation with Gary Neville and David Seaman.
Neville stirred the pot when he brought Carra’s supposed Strictly Come Dancing up in the discussion on Sky Sports’ Football Show.
He cheekily asked if former Dancing on Ice star Seaman had any advice for Carra.
He said: “Dave, you’ve been on Strictly Come Dancing and Carra’s been asked to go on the next series.”
“No, no,” said Seaman. “It was Dancing on Ice, mate!”
Neville said: “Sorry, Dancing on Ice. I knew it was one of those programmes! But Carra’s been asked to go on, so what advice would you give him?”
Carragher appeared to go along with it as he smiled and nodded. He added: “What do you think, Dave?”
Seaman said: “What are you doing, Dancing on Ice or Strictly?”
Carragher replied: “I’m doing Strictly.”
It’s not made clear whether the football pundits were joking about the Strictly stint.
However, he later confirmed on Twitter he wasn’t going on Strictly.
He wrote: “No it was a wind up by Neville that I thought I’d go with for a laugh!”
Radio host Chris named himself as the first star for Strictly 2019 – then promptly pulled out before the series launch.
Last March he complained of a knee injury, telling fans: “I’ve got an issue with my left meniscus.”
But with a year off his feet – and no London Marathon to risk further injury – could Chris be back on Strictly for 2020?
Mum of one Cheryl already has plenty of dance experience under her belt after years of performing with Girls Aloud and then building up her solo career.
She sparked Strictly rumours late last year when she was spotted sitting in the audience for one of the 2019 episodes.
While she may have simply been there to support her friend Oti Mabuse – with who she presents The Greatest Dancer – fans would love to see Cheryl showing the Strictly professionals what she’s made of.
Funnyman Alan has been approached by BBC bosses every year, and in 2019 hinted he would finally do it.
Sadly, that didn’t come to pass, with the comedian explaining: “They ask me to do it every year, and I say, ‘No’ because it’s too much like hard work.”
He joked to Graham Norton: “I used to be able to slut drop, but I can’t anymore, I’m at that age. I like Oops Up Side Your Head because you get to sit down!”
But Alan later told Loose Women that he’d agreed to sign up to the 2020 series, admitting: “I will do it, but next year, I’ve got a busy year. They cornered me and they said, ‘Would you do it?'”
Model and reality TV star Christine is no stranger to a bop – she’s always showing off her moves on TikTok.
And the wife of Paddy McGuinness has confessed she’s a big fan of the BBC hit.
“I would love to do Strictly. Learning a new skill and wearing sparkles, I am there,” she told the Daily Star.
“I have always wanted to learn to dance like they do in Dirty Dancing too. It’s my fave movie.”
Jack P Shepherd
Coronation Street’s Jack sparked Strictly rumours earlier this year when his girlfriend asked an oh-so innocent question about dance training.
Hanni Treweek took to Twitter to ask: “Does anyone know of any good ballroom dancing classes in Manchester that @jackpsheperd88 and I can do?”
He’s previously admitted he’d like to do the show, saying he prefers it to Dancing on Ice or I’m A Celeb – and with co-star Catherine Tyldesley’s success last year, what’s he got to lose?
The BBC loves nothing more than rolling out one of its own cast of characters for the Strictly line-up each year – and who would be better suited than Huw?
The BBC News silver fox was set to join last year’s cast, but had to pull out when it became apparent there would be a general election in December.
Having quit her Channel 5 show Cruising With Jane McDonald this year, Jane’s certainly got a lot more time in the schedule.
She’s previously scoffed at the idea of doing Strictly, saying in 2017: “No, no. Strictly’s proper hard work!”
But after seeing her biggest fan Adele Roberts sweating in the jungle last November, will Jane think again?
Model Vogue was previously tipped to join the line-up in 2019, with a source telling the Sun: “Vogue has all the credentials to be on Strictly and is mates with someone in the casting department.”
“It looks as though 2019 will be her time.”
Vogue recently welcomed her second child with husband Spencer Matthews, with her giving birth to a baby girl in July.
Dancing On Ice star Caprice hit the headlines earlier this year when she pulled out of the ITV talent show following a huge bust-up with her partner Hamish Gaman.
The model and lingerie mogul accused her pro partner of ‘bullying behaviour’ – which he denied – and sensationally quit the show just a few weeks in.
So could Strictly 2020 be her chance to redeem herself?
“I think Strictly would be a lot of fun. But they are just not having it,” she has told the Mirror.
Ex-Blue Peter presenter Radzi was said to be in ‘advanced talks’ with Strictly chiefs last summer, but he’s the bookies’ favourite to join the line-up this year.
He took over from Michael Barrymore when the former TV presenter was forced to pull out of Dancing On Ice 2020 with an injury.
“Radzi is a late addition to Dancing On Ice and we think he’s had Strictly Come Dancing in his sights for a while too,” a Coral’s spokesman explained at the time.
“A strong showing with his skates on could see him swap to the dancefloor next winter and we make him just 5-4 to take part in Strictly next year.”
Alex Kingston and Sarah Hadland
Doctor Who star Alex said she and Sarah Hadland would happily appear on Strictly together.
“I think let’s just do it! Break the mould. Absolutely break the mould,” she told the Radio Times. “Yes, we want to do it.”
Miranda star Sarah added: “Every year I have the same thought: ‘I really, really want to do it!'”
Paralympic champ Will was forced to quit the Strictly 2019 series after injuring his knee, and was bitterly disappointed to leave pro partner Janette Manrara in the lurch.
And with the Paralympics 2020 postponed amid the coronavirus outbreak, will he take another shot at the Glitterball this year?
Match Of The Day star Mark, 62, is reportedly on producers’ list of names to acquire for this upcoming Strictly series.
“The team who book celebs for Strictly are really keen to get Mark on board,” a source told the Sun.
“He’s a great character and they know viewers would love to see him on the show this autumn.
“Strictly is a big commitment. But it’s looking promising.”
The presenter and model, 49, seems like the perfect candidate for the iconic BBC dance show as she is no stranger to putting on a show for the cameras.
The presenter is a regular star of reality TV, and the bookies make her just a 7/2 shot to take to the dance floor later this year.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Strictly chiefs are eyeing up their strongest line-up ever for the next series.
“And Mel Sykes may well be a part of it if the latest odds are anything to go by.”
This may be the perfect time for the gorgeous star to pursue some new challenges after months of being cooped up at home during the coronavirus lockdown.
Former pop star Myleele is among the stars tipped for this year’s show, alongside her former Popstars judge Nicki Chapman.
A source told The Daily Star: “Strictly want both to be in the lineup. They are household names and haven’t really worked together since Popstars so it would be an amazing reunion.”
Maya has been rumoured for Strictly ever since she quit her Radio One show – let’s hope 2020 is her year!
A source told The Sun Online: “Maya ticks a lot of boxes for the show. She’s great fun, has a massive following, especially among young people and, of course, she can dance.
“A lot of those taking part juggle other work but for Maya combining Strictly with a weekend slot on the radio would have been impossible.
“Producers hope her decision to leave the radio show will mean she is up for the idea of a place on Strictly.
BBC programme chiefs are considering a big money deal to bring her in as one of this winter’s top names.
An insider told the Mirror: “The channel is willing to pay big money as she is already a household name and will be a hit with viewers.”
Odds were slashed on Homes Under The Hammer’s Martin signing up after he admitted he’d “love” to take part.
It wouldn’t be his first taste of reality TV, after a Celebrity MasterChef stint in 2010, and heading Down Under for I’m A Celebrity in 2016.
