Meghan Markle’s ‘regal fear’ during Suits exposed: ‘My ankle’s twitching’

The former actress spent seven years on the popular US show about Manhattan lawyers, where she starred as Rachel Zane in until 2018. During her courtship with Prince Harry , he watched his future wife perform on-set before their engagement was announced. This year, the couple moved across the pond after they announced their plan to depart from their roles as senior royals . They are due to release a series on Netflix , reportedly worth $100million (£78million) and were recently criticised for an anti- Donald Trump video, where they were accused of "intefering in US politics".

Prior to the recent dramas, Meghan savoured her role on-screen in ' Suits ' and became a hit with fans who hoped for a real-life romance with her TV partner Patrick J. Adams .

Both of them denied the claims and maintained that they had a platonic brother-sister connection while away from the show.

The cast were known to be extremely close and considered each other "family" – and even went on holidays together.

During a candid disclosure about her time on the show, Meghan revealed that she feared fellow actress colleague Gina Torres, who played the show’s main character Jessica Pearson.

In a 60-minute interview for AOL's BUILD series, she recalled one particular moment that left her quaking in her boots.

Meghan said: "There is a quality about Gina that is so regal… I remember there's one scene that I had with her.

"[She's] regonotiating something and she just like walked towards him and she had this posturing.

"I forgot my lines in my scene because I was so unnerved by it and like even in the actual episode, when I watch the scene, my ankle's twitching.

"I'm standing there and my ankle's sorting of bending like a little girl when you're nervous."

Despite this on-set fear, she claimed their relationship was starkly different away from the cameras.

Meghan said: "Meanwhile in real life I'll go to her house. She cooks like pico de gallo and we sit and drink wine and hang out.

"She's awesome but there's something about when she's in character that just (Meghan makes a whooshing sound). So, oh my god! She's amazing, she's great."

During the interview, Meghan revealed her hidden talent for calligraphy and admitted that to avoid any smudges she would wear a tube sock over her hand.

She also claimed to be very different from her character Rachel Zane and quipped: "I don't cry as much as Rachel does, I don't think anyone does, oh gosh."

When asked how she was able to produce tears, Meghan continued to joke around and said: "I’m so dehydrated by the end of the season, I’m like 'I can't any more!'"
