A Coongoola day cruise is something I recommend everyone to do if visiting Vanuatu. You’ll visit secluded beaches on Moso island, learn about turtles at the turtle sanctuary, have a BBQ on the beach, go snorkeling and see dolphins play. It’s a great day out on the water and a must do Vanuatu cruise. Do note that this day trip isn’t suitable for day trips if you’re onboard a cruise ship as the times don’t match. It’s easily added in a Vanuatu itinerary which is exactly what I did. Booking a Coongoola cruise I highly recommend booking a Coongoola day cruise in advance through their website. In low season they do not sail everyday and in high season the cruise can be fully booked. Alternatively, you can go to their office in Port Vila or have your hotel book it for you. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Port Vila and they took care of my booking. Pickup usually is around 8AM from your hotel and the 30-45-minute transfer to Havannah Harbor is included … [Read more...] about VANUATU – Must do day trip: Coongoola cruise from Port Vila

Police ID officer as man hurt in 16-foot fall on cruise ship
A man injured in a fall on a Carnival cruise ship has been identified as an Alabama police officer. News outlets report Huntsville, Alabama, police say officer John Thomas Holliday was hurt Tuesday when he fell nearly 16-feet (5-meters) to the ship’s deck off the Louisiana coast. It described his injuries as not life threatening. The U.S. Coast Guard had initially reported the 23-year-old man was critically injured and airlifted to a New Orleans hospital. (Photo: AFP/Lucas Barioulet) The reigning champions had suffered a shock 2-0 loss in their previous home game against Reims, but had no such trouble at the Parc des Princes on this occasion despite their opponents' surprisingly strong start to the season. PSG head into the international break in control of the title race, while Nantes leapfrogged Angers into second place following a 1-0 win at home to Nice. "It's a good end to this period for us, and with a clean sheet, that's good," said Paris coach Thomas Tuchel, who saw three of his recent signings score as Pablo Sarabia and Idrissa Gueye also found the net. "With the recruits, we have gained personality and experience. We are more reliable." Neymar's late strike rounded off a strong individual … [Read more...] about Icardi scores first Ligue 1 goal as PSG cruise past Angers
Remembering My First Love: South America
Updated: August 28, 2019 When I remember my 2009 semester in Buenos Aires, too many “nevers” come to mind. I will never be 19 again. I will never drink so much malbec that I jump into a pool fully clothed. I’ll never eat choripán with chimichurri on the street with friends, laughing like crazy. And a small but deeply cynical part of me believes I’ll never see South America again, a continent that shaped me in my teenage years and has more of an emotional hold on me than any other. South America first ensnared me when I was 15. I flew to Ecuador on a group trip, hoping to learn a little Spanish and embark on my first international trip without parents. Honestly, a month in Ecuador was more than I had bargained for: glacially cold showers in the countryside, men staring at me unabashedly and a level of grime and squalor that I had never seen growing up in suburban Michigan. I went completely broke halfway through the trip and could barely afford breakfast. … [Read more...] about Remembering My First Love: South America
9 Tips for Savvy Plus-Size Travelers
One size does not fit all when it comes to traveling and exploring the world. For plus-size globetrotters, that presents some challenges along the way, whether it’s too-snug airplane seats or spa robes meant for someone of more diminutive stature. Take heart, though—the problems are surmountable. Where there is a desire to take a journey, there are workable solutions to ensure grand experiences. Tips for Plus-Size Travelers Here are tips geared to fellow voyagers of size, gleaned from my own travels as a Rubenesque gal who has racked up visits to more than 70 countries. Choose Size-Friendly Airlines In the U.S., most airlines require that you be able to lower both armrests and buckle up your seatbelt (using one extender). That’s the litmus test in determining whether you may be required to buy an adjacent (aka “comfort”) seat. If you do need an additional “comfort” seat, you’ll need to call the airline directly to book them. Policies … [Read more...] about 9 Tips for Savvy Plus-Size Travelers
