A NIFTY nine-year-old who started selling his hens' eggs for pocket money is now running a multi-million-pound business empire. Josh Murray first realised his pets had profit potential back in 2008 while he was still in primary school. His family had just moved to an old pine plantation in Kerrie Valley in Victoria, Australia, when they found that the previous owner had left behind 40 hens. The youngster, keen to earn some cash, managed to persuade his parents to keep the poultry - on the condition he took care of them. The then-nine-year-old demonstrated his business acumen, bartering with mum Tamsyn so that he could reap the full rewards. They eventually struck a deal that Josh would tend to the chickens and could sell their eggs. A motorist who refused a breath test when police found her drunk on the side of a busy road has avoided jail after she claimed she didn't start drinking until after her car broke down. (CTN News) – European venture capitalists began exchanging sarcastic comments on an article that appeared in the weekend edition of the Financial Times on a Saturday in February 2022. It was caused by an excerpt from the book The Law of Power: Venture Capital and the Art of Disruption by journalist Sebastian Mallaby, which reflected the ill-informed and condescending attitudes of Silicon Valley investors towards Europe. An incident occurred in 2019, according to Mallaby, when a partner at Sequoia Capital, which manages approximately $85 billion in assets, wrote to other partners in their office in Menlo Park arguing that Europe’s technology ecosystem was ultimately worthy of their attention. A $30 billion investment was made in tech companies that year, and the idea that an American venture capitalist had to use his “intuition” to discover that there were opportunities in Europe was derided from Dublin to Berlin. In the year of our Lord 2019, the Americans came to teach … [Read more...] about Europe; FGN News presents the 100 hottest startups in Europe in 2022

But when it comes to vehicles and their owners, silence largely prevails. Except for a few vague warning lights on the dashboard and side mirrors — and a few sensor-based sounds in some recent models and, of course, car horns — drivers know nothing about what the vehicles and pedestrians around them are about to do. A dangerous obstruction in the roadway, two cars about to move into the same lane, or a bicycle coming out of a blind alley up ahead are a few potential surprises, with the driver finding out about them often too late — sometimes with deadly results. Yet by later this decade much of such surprises is expected to change. Manufacturers are developing systems generically known as C-V2X — shorthand for cellular vehicle-to-everything technology — for vehicles to communicate … [Read more...] about Hello, Fellow Car.
