"Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up,” by Selma Blair (Alfred A. Knopf) Most people probably know Selma Blair from her memorable roles in late ‘90s/early '00’s hit films such as “Cruel Intentions," “Legally Blonde” and “Hellboy.” Perhaps others are familiar with her work as a model, gracing the covers of fashion magazines and enjoying a stint as a collaborator with and muse to the famed designer Karl Lagerfeld. Or maybe they've heard about her mid-life multiple sclerosis diagnosis and the recent documentary, “Introducing, Selma Blair,” that details how the actress is adapting to life with the disease. The creator is Tom McCarthy, who wrote the film about the Boston Globe's investigation of sexual abuse by Catholic priests. Craig Erwich, ABC entertainment president, calls it a brave show for this era. “Telling stories about journalists as heroes is something that's going to get a lot of conversation,” Erwich said in an interview Tuesday. “It's a very … [Read more...] about ABC tries something brave: drama with journalist as hero
Health chiefs are now probing whether monkeypox is being spread through SEX as STI clinics bring social distancing back
Monkeypox may spread during sexual contact, UK health chiefs now believe. Government scientists are probing whether sex could be one of the drivers of the current spate of cases. The rare tropical disease was known to spread via close contact — but it had never been linked to sexual intercourse. So far seven Brits have been diagnosed with the virus and six are thought to have been infected in the UK, in a sign it is spreading in the community for the first time. Four of the cases are in gay or bisexual men, who are now being urged to be extra vigilant for new lesions or rashes. Experts at the UK Health Security Agency claimed the pattern of spread is 'highly suggestive of spread in sexual networks'. MailOnline revealed earlier today how sexual health clinics have reintroduced social distancing amid fears about the outbreak. At least one practice in London had already brought in stricter infection control measures yesterday, including a one-metre rule in waiting rooms. … [Read more...] about Health chiefs are now probing whether monkeypox is being spread through SEX as STI clinics bring social distancing back

TOWIE's Charlie King has told how he reached the "depths of my despair" after a nose job went wrong. The reality star opened up as he spoke before the Health and Social Care Committee about struggling with body dysmorphia, a condition which sees sufferers spending a lot of time worrying about physical flaws that are often unnoticeable to others. Charlie, 36, shared that he was bullied at school and struggled with his sexuality. The best dating apps, based on who and what you’re looking for
Back in my day, a killer dating profile was a Myspace page with a moving .gif background and perfectly curated "Zoolander" quotes. A thirst trap was setting your AOL instant messenger status to the lyrics of your crush’s favorite Snow Patrol song, and typing “ a/s/l ”? into a Neopets chatroom was the closest thing to letting a stranger know you may be "dtf" (Or down to ... you know). When I found myself newly single after college and living in the big city, a friend told me to download Blendr — the “Grindr for straight people” with her. We were very hush-hush about it, because it was 2012 and online dating still had a big social stigma attached: namely, that it was for wanton people with unwholesome intentions. Thank goodness, we’ve come a long way, baby. The social stigma of app dating has dissipated, and with the incredible boom of social media and the smartphone, online dating is now not only socially acceptable, it’s the norm. And there are over 1500 apps and websites … [Read more...] about The best dating apps, based on who and what you’re looking for

Jean Smart (left) and Hannah Einbinder hit the road in the second season of “Hacks” —PHOTOS COURTESY OF HBO GO It’s rare for any movie or TV show to get a 100-percent approval rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. In Season 2, Deborah goes on tour and takes her new and “more personal” stand-up act on the road after she is edged out of her regular gig on the Vegas Strip. But the breezy and wildly irreverent series refuses to rest on its laurels. It cleverly utilizes the duo’s … [Read more...] about Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder on mining comedy and understanding cancel culture
