VLADIMIR Putin is feared to be preparing for a new onslaught on Ukraine with up to 500,000 soldiers. Russia is believed to be plotting an attack across two new fronts - pushing into eastern and southern Ukraine . Kyiv believe Mad Vlad's attack may happen around February 24 - the one year anniversary of the invasion . Putin is desperate to achieve something after a bruising first year which has seen his forces thrown back . Ukraine however fear the next few weeks will be crucial for the conflict as they continue to call for weapons from the West . Brighton owner’s horse costs mystery punter £725,000 after Cheltenham flop
Brighton owner Tony Bloom saw his star horse finish third at Cheltenham on Saturday after one mystery punter placed a staggering £725,000 bet on the nine-year-old. Champion Chase hero Energumene went off as a heavily backed favourite in the rearranged Clarence House Chase. That resulted in one punter putting £350,000 at 4-7 and £375,000 at 8-15. The Racing Post states that the mystery punter is rumoured to be Bloom himself. Star Sports stated on social media that they stood to lose £400,000 if Energumene had won the six-runner race. However, the Brighton-based bookie prevailed as the Bloom-owned horse finished third behind 14/1 winner Editeur Du Gite and Edwardstone in second. UKRAINE has said they need an arsenal of new weapons to finally defeat Russia as its feared Vladimir Putin is gearing up for the next phase of his invasion. President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly called for more arms to bolster his forces as they bravely stand up against Moscow. While the West is handing over tanks, missiles and other weapons, Ukraine fears it may not be enough to completely beat Putin . Kyiv has previously estimated that they need up to 500 tanks, 200 warplanes, 1,000 artillery pieces, 1,000 drones and 300 missile launchers. RISHI Sunak is considering a fresh crackdown on teaching unions in the wake of chaotic school strikes. The PM is weighing up adding education to a list of public sectors that will be forced to provide minimum service levels during days of industrial action. A new Bill going through Parliament will eventually force some doctors, nurses, train operators and emergency services personnel to show up at work even if they voted to strike. No10 hoped to reach a voluntary agreement with education unions on minimum service. But after yesterday's strike , where heads were given little to no notice over how many teachers would show up, this could become mandatory.
