British Airways, part of International Airlines Group (also parent of Iberia, Vueling and Aer Lingus) is one of the world’s leading global premium airlines. The UK flagship carrier has a fleet of more than 280 aircraft – including the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 – that fly 123,000 passengers across the globe every day. A British Airways aircraft takes off from somewhere in the world every 90 seconds. The carrier was created in 1974 after the British government decided to merge several national and regional airline corporations. However, the carrier is marking 2019 as its centenary on the basis of the foundation of its forerunner company, Aircraft Transport and Travel Limited (AT&T), which launched the world’s first daily international scheduled air service between London … [Read more...] about Top 10 reasons why I like to fly British Airways (again)

Transport : Airlines Related: British Airways There is something very disorientating about flying late at night in the dark. You look out of the window and into blackness, with no idea where you are, particularly if you are on a British Airways flight without drop-down screens like the one I am currently flying on. Our Travel Auctions Sort Bypopularlatestending As an aside, there are no charging points for your laptop on this A319, even in Club or Business Class, which is extremely frustrating because my laptop is hovering at about 10% battery life and we are only halfway through the flight. Thankfully my flight is not long. BA flies from Nice to Gatwick in around 2 hours. With 20 minutes of my flight being takeoff and landing, where I can’t use my laptop anyway, the lack of power is not a complete disaster. But I digress. Flying at night reminds me of a rather horrific movie I watched many years ago, where a plane flew along with the world was disappearing behind it. A black … [Read more...] about Evening Flight Review: British Airways A319 Club Europe Business Class
Transport : Airlines Related: British Airways I regularly fly on British Airways out of London Heathrow to Nice, just have a read of my European British Airways Flight Reviews to find out what the Heathrow route is like, but today I flew from Gatwick. Our Travel Auctions Sort Bypopularlatestending I actually prefer to fly out of Heathrow because I am a major fan of Heathrow Terminal 5 with it’s modern and impressive design and the glamorous facilities, all set inside a modern aircraft hanger-style building with glass sides and loads of structural detailing. I love all the light that streams in from it’s glass sides, the futuristic advertising boards, the immaculately kept communal areas and the views out onto the tarmac. The British Airways lounges are particularly good here. You can read all about them including the best British Airways lounge in Terminal 5, they are all based on the upper floors so you can relax above the main terminal concourse and look down upon the … [Read more...] about Flight Review: British Airways A320 European Business Class From Gatwick
DOZENS of British Airways passengers were left stranded at Hewanorra Airport in St Lucia after their flights were cancelled. Holidaymakers took to social media to complain that they were forced to sleep on the airport floor due to a shortage of rooms. Two separate BA flights were affected. Flight BA2158 was due to fly from St Lucia to London yesterday at 8:05pm - but it ended up being cancelled after delays. An earlier BA flight, BA2159 to Grenada, which landed in St Lucia from London Gatwick, was also cancelled. The reason for the cancellations is currently unknown. Passengers claimed they were told that there were no hotel rooms available for the night. Photos on Twitter showed disgruntled passengers, who claimed they were forced to sleep on the terminal floor with no BA reps available for help. Many had travelled to St Lucia to watch the cricket, which caused the shortage of rooms on the island. One woman travelling alone said she was "frightened" by herself at the airport. … [Read more...] about Furious British Airways passengers forced to sleep on airport FLOOR after their flight was cancelled
