Deadly diseases like Ebola and Nipah — which kill up to 75 per cent of people they strike — are two of the biggest threats. Others pathogenic hazards, which could theoretically sweep the world if given the opportunity, include bird flu , Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) and the plague. UK health officials are constantly monitoring the threats around the planet, in order not to be caught off-guard. The data published by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) revealed that there are 15 different diseases that account for each country's high consequence infectious disease.
