Bean and Ikea – are suddenly amping up rewards for everyday purchases at restaurants, gas stations and grocery stores. These rewards cards, co-branded by the issuer and a retail brand, were formerly one-trick ponies that were best for purchases at a single merchant only. But with better rewards, the cards are now becoming more useful for consumers. Now, co-branded card issuers might offer double or triple points – or more – every time you swipe at the pump or hand your card to a waiter or store clerk. Ikea even offers bonus points for spending on utilities. Traditionally, co-branded credit cards offered a mundane 1 percent back on purchases made outside the brand. Vinatex completes 65% of yearly revenue target Viet Nam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) has completed 65 per cent of the yearly target set for total revenues with its eight-month result (excluding VAT) reaching over VND31.45 trillion (US$1.34 billion). This figure also represented a rise of 7 per cent against the same period last year, the textile group reported in a filing to the Ministry of Planning and Investment. In August alone, it earned VND4.48 trillion in revenue, down 5 per cent year-on-year, of which turnover of the parent company and subsidiaries with its holdings of over 50 per cent capital reached almost VND1.74 trillion. In 2016, when the Marriott hotel group purchased all hotels in the Starwood portfolio, not much changed to their loyalty programs. In addition, Marriott also managed a separate loyalty program for their Ritz-Carlton properties. Tomorrow, August 18th, the loyalty programs of Marriott (Marriott Rewards), Starwood (Starwood Preferred Guest or SPG) and Ritz-Carlton (Ritz-Carlton Rewards) are finally uniting into one program with 110 million (!!!) members.
