You can now buy a home without selling any of your Bitcoin with crypto mortgages. Here are the pros and cons

May 16, 2022 by www.asiaone.com Leave a Comment

Take a guess which year this was written: When asked which payment method they used most often, 43 per cent of Singaporeans preferred cash, as compared to three per cent who used mobile wallets, and two per cent who used contactless payments. If you’re anything like me, you’d be shocked to learn that this survey was conducted in 2017. That’s just five years ago! And just a year before that in 2016, people were concerned with the security of e-wallets, with articles even claiming that “ digital wallets are likely to end up becoming alternative players ”. This could not be more wrong today, as the future of payments is most definitely digital. It was at that same time in 2017 that I first used the QR code to make my first PayNow payment buying a cuppa joe, and it seemed clear to me back then that physical cash would be a thing of the past. Today (spurred on by the pandemic as well) it’s become the norm for me and so many others. And so if there’s anything to learn from … [Read more...] about You can now buy a home without selling any of your Bitcoin with crypto mortgages. Here are the pros and cons

New York (CNN Business) Worries about an economic slowdown are running wild on Wall Street. Despite concerns about inflation , higher interest rates from the Federal Reserve, supply chain issues and geopolitical turmoil due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Covid outbreaks in China, American consumers continue to do what they do best: shop until they drop. Retail sales rose at a healthy 0.5% clip in March when compared to February and were up 6.9% from March 2021. Economists are expecting that the strong trend for retail lasted into April as well. The government will report retail sales figures for April on Tuesday. Forecasts are calling for a 0.7% jump from March levels. In other words, experts don't think negative headlines and recent market turmoil slowed down consumer spending. "We are yet to see a looming … [Read more...] about How resilient is the US consumer?

Here’s where median household incomes increased the most in the Bay Area during the last decade

April 15, 2022 by www.sfchronicle.com Leave a Comment

The median household income of many Bay Area cities skyrocketed during the past decade, driven by population shifts and tech salaries that buoyed the region’s median pay levels above much of the state and country. It may not be surprising to see San Francisco in the top 10 Bay Area cities that saw incomes climb by dizzying degrees during the last decade. But East Palo Alto coming in the No. 1 spot and Hercules at the bottom of the list tells a story of migration, clustered wage growth and economic opportunity during a period of widening economic disparity. The data set comes from the U.S. Census Bureau’s five-year American Community Surveys for 2015 and 2020, and included places in the Bay Area with at least 20,000 residents. Median income refers to the income in the middle of the data set that divides it into two equal groups, with half the incomes above that amount and the other half below it. The median incomes for the 2015 data were adjusted for inflation. In San Francisco, … [Read more...] about Here’s where median household incomes increased the most in the Bay Area during the last decade

May 15, 2022 by www.dailystar.co.uk Leave a Comment

A self-proclaimed "bimbo" says her life is like Legally Blonde's Elle Woods – and has jokingly called her haters "bimbophobic". Fiona Fairbairn, from Toronto, is using her platform on TikTok to change society's views of bimbos as she claims to be extremely intelligent but doesn't feel the need to prove herself. The 19-year-old has even compared herself to Elle Woods and has declared her haters as 'bimbophobic', as they troll her just because she's hot. The creator, who posts as @gsgetlonelytoo , began uploading videos in January and claims to have gained 100,000 followers in three days. In a recent clip, which received more than 1,300 likes, she explained: "Many people are very bimbophobic to me, for no reason, like, I'm sorry, I just can't stop being hot." Speaking to the Daily Star, she said that "the word bimbo is being redefined". She added: "Being a bimbo is a woman who is unapologetically themselves and doesn't feel the need to prove herself to anybody. "It's … [Read more...] about ‘I’m a bimbo so people wrongly think I’m dumb – they hate that I’m hot’

May 15, 2022 by www.dailystar.co.uk Leave a Comment

Serbia's Eurovision entry Konstrakta left fans completely baffled when they sung all about Meghan Markle 's "healthy hair" during their performance. During the 66th Eurovision Song Contest final on Saturday night (May 14), Serbia's entry began with the lines: "What could be the secret of Meghan Markle's healthy hair?" Ana Đurić known professionally as Konstrakta performed the catchy track, where another line could be heard: "What could it be? I think it's all about deep hydration." Baffled fans were taken aback while tuning in from the comfort of their own homes, with many taking to Twitter to note what they had just heard. Not sure what they were hearing, one keen Eurovision viewer penned: "Is nobody going to mention Serbia's song about Meghan Markle's hair? I mean, WTF?" Another said: "Serbia get out, singing about Meghan Markle’s hair, that’s maddddd." "So random that Serbia's song was about Meghan Markle," echoed a third. Rise of the North: Pampanga

May 15, 2022 by business.inquirer.net Leave a Comment

Among the ongoing mixed used developments in Pampanga is Rockwell’s Nepo Center in Angeles City. Colliers Philippines sees a more aggressive launch of new residential projects in Pampanga beyond 2022, on the back of a sustained demand. This is likely to be driven by the easing of mobility restrictions, sustained overseas Filipino workers’ remittances, and expansion of businesses. National and local developers are seen to continue capturing demand in Pampanga, one of the most competitive markets in the Philippines, whose viability as a preferred property investment destination outside Metro Manila is being raised further by massive infrastructure implementation and decentralization efforts. At Colliers Philippines, we thus recommend that developers continue their landbanking initiatives especially outside of the Angeles-San Fernando-Mabalacat corridor. We encourage local players with a sizeable landbank, but with limited experience in building masterplanned communities, to … [Read more...] about Rise of the North: Pampanga
