The GB News host pinpointed the "two key steps which look to be part of her journey to achieving her ultimate goal of entering the White House". The first key step in question was Meghan's bombshell Vogue interview with feminist icon Gloria Steinem over the Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe V Wade, the constitutional right for abortions. (AP) — California voters will weigh in on seven ballot measures this fall, the fewest to appear on a statewide general election ballot since 2014. Thursday was the deadline to qualify measures for the November ballot. Secretary of State Shirley Weber confirmed that seven questions will appear in November. After an ugly June swoon, the Chicago Cubs enter July with the trade deadline coming into focus
The Chicago Cubs’ June swoon has cemented the direction of their season. The Cubs finished 10-17 (.370), their worst month so far, as they approach the midpoint of the season. Although the Cubs leave behind a 10-game losing streak in early June as they enter July having won two consecutive series, the clubhouse will be facing increased trade speculation. Here is a breakdown of what to take away from the Cubs’ June performance. 1. Nico Hoerner’s hot month displays his all-around potential. Hoerner’s potential for stardom has been on display this season with his upside never looking higher than it did in June. He already impressed with his glove at shortstop behind the work he put in during the offseason. But his offensive production went to a new level in June. Hoerner finished the month with a .344/.392/.452 slash line. There is still room to increase his power numbers (six extra-base hits over 25 June games). But his ability to get on base via hits is a reliable … [Read more...] about After an ugly June swoon, the Chicago Cubs enter July with the trade deadline coming into focus
It wasn’t just singer’s salad colanders that made Glastonbury a strain
THE week’s big challenge? To watch every single networked minute of the BBC’s Glastonbury coverage. That’s 35 hours in total. A daunting enough task, even with the best will in the world, but this feat of endurance was made even harder by a single, unavoidable obstacle. I hate Glastonbury . With something of a passion. It’s a loathing generated, in part, by my simple inability to cope with the idea of 250,000 middle-class tosspots having a much better time than me. The lion’s share though, I hope, is driven by very solid reasons and, above all, the carpet-bombing of the BBC , whose schedule makes it very clear they’re much more comfortable with Glastonbury’s right-on version of Britain than the complex, funny, talented, narky, socially conservative reality that the vast majority of its licence payers have no trouble adoring. And then, of course, there’s the army of BBC reporters and presenters.
