If Larry Clark had ever found his way onto the Pine Ridge Reservation, he probably would have come away with a film like “ War Pony ,” which observes its young Native American characters hustling, skating and stealing drugs from otherwise distracted adults. Presenting such behavior without judgment, first-time directors Gina Gammell and Riley Keough developed this unvarnished portrait in collaboration with their actors, capturing something at once tragic and true about these kids, who are torn between Oglala Lakota traditions and the consumer culture around them. A few years older than the hero of Chloé Zhao’s recent “The Rider” — a movie this one can’t help but resemble, at least superficially — Bill (Jojo Bapteise Whiting) is like the slacker version of that American dreamer. He siphons gas from strangers’ tanks and goes around asking people if they want to buy a stolen PlayStation. He already has two kids by two different women. Kin of Filipino hero seek return of US war medal
CLARK FREEPORT—The family of a war hero, a member of the then Philippine Scouts under the US Army, has renewed its appeal for help in recovering the US Congressional Medal of Honor awarded to their ancestor 99 years ago. A relative took the medal in the 1920s and was reported to have sold it at an auction last year. Maria Delilah Turzar, a great granddaughter of Private Jose Baliton Nisperos, said the family’s appeal was directed at the winning bidder who paid $1,100 (P47,300 today at 43:1) for the medal. “We learned recently from one of our supporters, Mr. Philip Garcia, about an auction in 2011. We received information [the winning bidder] was a Filipino-American based in the United States. The name of our lolo is engraved on the medal. Please help us recover it,” said Turzar addressing the 28th annual reunion of the Philippine Scouts Heritage Society here on Saturday. In General Order No. 64 issued on Nov. 25, 1912, the US War Department honored Nisperos with the medal for … [Read more...] about Kin of Filipino hero seek return of US war medal

And that potential is increasing, not decreasing,” Milley told the cadets. “Whatever overmatch we, the United States, enjoyed militarily for the last 70 years is closing quickly, and the United States will be, in fact, we already are … [Read more...] about Milley tells West Point cadets technology will transform war

Tucker Carlson: The White House approves gasoline shortage, it’s their Green New Deal
close Video Tucker: Biden's making a mess of US economy 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' host examines rising gas and commodity prices and the mainstream media's coverage NEW You can now listen to Fox News articles! There are a lot of unprecedented things happening, but not all of them are shocking. For example, it probably shouldn’t surprise you that, once they got their hands on real power, the same lunatics who don’t believe in human biology immediately made a serious mess of our economy. It took them less than six months to do it. First, they acted like the U.S. dollar had no value. They spent money like they’d just printed it for the occasion, which, needless to say, they had. Predictably, we wound up with frightening levels of inflation, which for the record they still deny exists. But inflation does exist, as you well know if you live here. Corn prices, to name just one example of a staple commodity that’s now out of control, have risen by 50 percent just … [Read more...] about Tucker Carlson: The White House approves gasoline shortage, it’s their Green New Deal
