“One of the biggest reasons we decided to have a Training Center is so we can have a ‘home base’—and with that comes the freedom to do what we feel is best for our athletes on whatever terrain we need, whenever we want,” says Larson of the facility’s purpose. “For example, we can go into the Training Center anytime and set up circuits or even mock-competition rounds specifically for our athletes and what they need to work on. Expanding high school students’ lives through theater
A: Most students in high school theater programs will be introduced to Shakespeare and musical theater, but there are so many other genres and modalities of live performance that are not traditionally taught until college or graduate school. I think that’s a missed opportunity because too many students walk away thinking theater is essentially only Shakespeare and musicals. Hopefully, this program expands the definition of “theater” for young people while also challenging them to consider the world around them a bit differently.
