John Fury to ‘pressure’ Tyson into Anthony Joshua clash amid ‘sneaky feeling’ of Usyk win
An eagerly awaited showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua seems on the cards, if AJ can beat Russian fighter Oleksandr Usyk next weekend. Tyson's dad John Fury says if Joshua wins his showdown against Usyk for the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles then he would put pressure on his son to step back into the ring for the fight dubbed 'the biggest in British boxing history'. "If Joshua gets the win, then it's all to play for isn't it?" John Fury said speaking to talkSPORT . "Even I would want (Tyson) to do that, I'd pressure him to do that. And Usyk, why not? He can beat them both at a canter so why not? READ MORE: Tyson Fury sends 'get f*****' message to Derek Chisora over 'changing the goalposts' "But don't be surprised if AJ pulls it off. Tyson Fury has confirmed his retirement from boxing in an emotional Twitter post - but not everyone is convinced. Heavyweight champ, Fury, 34, doubled down on his previous retirement stance following his victory over Dillian Whyte earlier this year on social media. He wrote: "Massive thanks to everyone who had an input in my career over the years, and after the long conversations, I've finally decided to walk away and on my 34th birthday, I say bon voyage." Fury continued by thanking all of those who had "made it special along the way," including promotor Frank Warren, trainer Sugar Hill Steward, his brother Shane, dad John and his cousin Hughie. Curiously there was no mention for Tommy. Slow-cooked lamb that can stand the heat
By David Tanis , The New York Times Speaking of summer weather, or weren’t we? I pronounce it “exceedingly hot and humid.” While that’s not true of everywhere, of course, I know many people who would emphatically answer yes when asked, “Hot enough for you?” And emphatically no when asked, “Are you going to cook?” Some won’t even turn on the oven or boil a pot of water from June to October. My friends, cooking in the heat, summertime or not, is part of being a cook. Embrace it. People the world around routinely cook in hot climates every day. Even if you do all your cooking outdoors, you won’t escape without breaking a sweat. There are strategies to summer cooking. Early morning, before the day heats up, is a good time to get a head start on dinner. And if you can cook today for tomorrow — in the cool of the evening, perhaps? — so much the better. The recipes in this month’s menu can all be prepared a day in advance, though it is certainly not required. It’s hard not to … [Read more...] about Slow-cooked lamb that can stand the heat

Joey Essex has the brain power of a jelly – maybe we should make him Prime Minister
THERE have been many great injustices over the years, but little feels more unfair than Britain’s thickest man being able to retire at 32 because he’s a multimillionaire. Dopey Towie star Joey Essex , a man who makes the chimpanzee enclosure at London Zoo look like Oxford University, has revealed he is now so loaded he never needs to work again . Joey boasted just two GCSEs from his time at school, having scraped a C in art and a D in woodwork — alongside a third D in general studies picked up during a TV show in 2016. Yet despite this, Joey this week told The Sun he has now stockpiled enough to put his feet up for ever, having become a multimillionaire. But eager to stress that he’s not afraid to keep grafting, he added: “I guess I could, but I feel like it depends how much you enjoy your job. “I quite enjoy my job, so it’s never really about the money, it’s always about keeping myself busy and just being happy. “I’m only 32 — the best is yet to come.” READ … [Read more...] about Joey Essex has the brain power of a jelly – maybe we should make him Prime Minister
