Ryza Cenon As Margie, the gold-digging girlfriend of Yassi Pressman’s father in “Kurdapya,” a new comedy series over TV 5, Ryza Cenon is again playing a contravida role, which she said she enjoyed doing. “Mas nag-e-enjoy ako sa pagiging kontrabida because mas nalalaro ko po siya. Puwede na rin namang maging bida ang kontrabida, eh. May mga times na nagpapaawa rin naman ang mga kontrabida na ginagawa ng bida. Kasi ang bida, kailangang magpaawa lang siya, period. Pero ang kontrabida, halo-halo po na emosyon,” she said during the show’s grand mediacon for the series. (I enjoy being an antagonist more because I am able to play around the role. An antagonist can also become a protagonist. There are times when an antagonist may also act pitiful, just what a protagonist does. It’s because the role of the protagonist calls for it, period. But the antagonist, there’s a whole range of emotions involved.) The challenge, Cenon said, lies in the delivery of the punchline and the timing by … [Read more...] about Ryza Cenon prefers a villain role: I get to play around with the character
Election where televised presidential debates played a pivotal role
Watch moment Macron is caught REMOVING £2k watch during TV debate on pension reform after riots swept France
EMMANUEL Macron has been ridiculed after he tried to subtly remove his £2,000 watch from his wrist on TV while discussing his bitterly contested pension reforms. The French President was seen tactfully slipping the luxury timepiece off during a prime-time televised debate on Wednesday. Critics said his clumsy display of wealth during the 30-minute interview was further proof he is "president of the rich." Last week, the French leader raised the retirement age from 62 to 64 without a parliamentary vote, which sparked outrage. While defending his controversial decision - which has triggered violent protests across the country - Macron sported a large watch on his left wrist. It featured a blue face and black strap to correspond with the colours of the President's security unit. More info Ten years ago today — March 26 — Queen Elizabeth II made history by changing the law to make the monarchy a more equal institution. In 2013, she gave royal assent to the Succession to the Crown Act, meaning both sons and daughters of any future British monarch would have an equal right to the throne. Thanks to the Crown Act, this is no longer the case, particularly affecting the children of the Prince and Princess of Wales: Prince George , nine, … [Read more...] about Modern royalty: George, Charlotte and Louis tipped to head monarchy as a ‘collective’

Jerry Boykin argues Biden's weakness has created a 'void' and leaves Iran militarily 'emboldened.' The MEMRI report argues that powerful steps can be taken by the Biden administration and Europe to impede Iran’s atomic weapon ambitions short of military strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities. MEMRI lays out a "Plan of Action" that aims to chip away at the legitimacy of the Islamic revolutionary state. The report comes at a historic moment in Iran’s history due to the revolts against the clerical regime sweeping the nation of 87 million … [Read more...] about How to stop Iran’s drive to obtain nuclear weapons short of bombing it: report

Ofsted ratings need to be ‘looked at’ following Ruth Perry’s death, Michael Gove says
Ofsted ratings should be 'looked at' after a headteacher who took her own life following an inspection by the watchdog, Michael Gove says. The Levelling-Up Secretary said while Ofsted plays a 'vital role' in assessing school performance, it needs to look at how schools can be rated inadequate overall if they only fail in one area in an inspection. It comes after Ruth Perry, the principal at Caversham Primary School in Reading, killed herself in January while waiting for an Ofsted report which downgraded her school to the lowest possible rating, her family said. An inspection report, published on Ofsted's website earlier this month, found Ms Perry's school to be 'good' in every category apart from leadership and management, where it was judged to be 'inadequate'. Speaking to Sky News' Sophy Ridge On Sunday programme, Mr Gove paid tribute to Ms Perry, saying she was a 'talented, passionately committed person'. Michael Gove (pictured) said while … [Read more...] about Ofsted ratings need to be ‘looked at’ following Ruth Perry’s death, Michael Gove says
