I was 25 years old the first time I experienced flying business class and I would be lying if I told you that I knew exactly what I was doing! Fast forward 7 years and I like to think that I’ve learnt a few things along the way! Not everyone is a seasoned pro! This is very true…my first long-haul business class flight was 6,910 miles away to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Lucky for me my colleagues had flown out a day earlier so there was no one I knew on the flight that I cared enough about to embarrass myself in front of. The flight itself was 13 hours 45 minutes long and included a brief stop in Sao Paulo. That’s a long time to be playing around with the buttons and remote control and still not work out how to convert your seat into a bed! Yes that’s correct….the most I managed was 120 degrees otherwise known as a casual putting up of the feet.
