French energy giant Total to buy 37% stake in India”s Adani Gas

Total has agreed to buy a 37.4 per cent stake in India's Adani Gas, the two firms said Monday (Oct 14), with the French giant spending US$600 million to expand its access to the energy-hungry country. Total will make an open offer to Adani Gas shareholders to purchase up to 25.2 per cent in equity. (Photo: AFP/Denis Charlet) The Indian firm, part of the Adani Group conglomerate, is one of the four main distributors of city gas in the country, and plans to increase its coverage to six million homes and 1,500 outlets to supply vehicles over the next decade. Under the terms of the deal, Total will make an open offer to Adani Gas shareholders to purchase up to 25.2 per cent before buying the remaining equity from the company, leaving the French and Indian firms with an equal share. A couple of weeks ago, San Diego High’s Henry McClish was leading his race at the Woodbridge Invitational when, with 400 meters remaining, he was passed.The Cavers senior found himself in a similar situation Saturday in the Southern California Invitational at Guajome Park, only this time he stepped on the gas to capture the boys race featuring each team’s top three runners.He covered the 3.1-mile course in 15:42.7, three seconds ahead of runner-up Antonio Dinis of El Camino.“I thought, ‘not again,’ when I heard him coming up,” said McClish. “You can’t look back and you can’t always believe what people along the route say to you. “Going into the race I thought La Costa Canyon’s (Caleb) Niednagel was entered and while he’s considered the best runner in the section, you never know in any given race. Average US price of gas unchanged over past 2 weeks

The average U.S. price of regular-grade gasoline has remained at $2.73 a gallon over the past two weeks.Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey said Sunday that within the average, prices in more than half of the cities surveyed fell by several cents while prices mostly rose in cities on the West Coast.She says the attack on Saudi Arabia’s key oil processing facility last month had no effect on gas prices.The price at the pump is 24 cents lower than it was a year ago. The highest average price in the nation is $4.20 a gallon in San Francisco. Gas explosion and fire displaces 150 people in Boston

BOSTON (AP) — A gas explosion and fire at a Boston apartment building has displaced about 150 people. Fire officials say no injuries were reported at the 40-unit residential building in the Mattapan neighborhood. The explosion and fire were reported early Saturday afternoon. Authorities say there’s about $200,000 in damage. The cause is under investigation. All residents of the building were kept out of their homes overnight.
