A trans woman has shot dead three children aged nine and three adults at a private Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee. The 28-year-old, who was a former student there, was killed by police after a confrontation with officers following the attack at the Covenant School. The attacker was named Audrey Hale and lived in Nashville, sources told NBC News. Police said the "lone zealot" was armed with two assault-type rifles, a pistol and a handgun. Hale had a manifesto and detailed maps of the school, and entered the building by shooting through a door before the killings. It was also revealed the attacker identified a trans woman. (AP) — The suspect in a Nashville school shooting on Monday had drawn a detailed map of the school, including potential entry points, and done surveillance before killing three students and three adults in the latest in a series of mass shootings in a country growing increasingly unnerved by bloodshed in schools.
