March 24, 2023 - 00:51 GMT Federica Viero has eschewed traditional Italian decor. Instead, it’s an eclectic combination of Scandi fittings, French furniture and artworks from New York, along with touches of English Victoriana - read more For Federica Viero, her love of design began at the tender age of six. Growing up in Veneto, north-western Italy, she lived in an 80s villa, which, as her family were not interested in decorating, she describes as “nothing special”. A turning point was being invited to a friend’s house for lunch as a child. “It was one of those amazing old country Veneto villas, with huge rooms and amazing fixtures, so I guess I started from there.” After graduating from Marangoni Fashion Institute in Milan and working for “a couple of fashion brands”, Federica joined Dsquared2 in 1997, she is now group head of design. “Let’s just say I grew up there,” she says, of the fashion house owned by Canadian twin brothers Dean … [Read more...] about Inside the eclectic Milanese home of Dsquared2’s head designer Federica Viero

March 26, 2023 by www.dailystar.co.uk Leave a Comment

Fed up residents of the "most flooded town in the UK" expect their homes to be completely underwater in the years to come, as water once again causes havoc. Cornwall Live reported last year that the lovely seaside town of Looe is "known for" its propensity to flood, so much so that climate scientists predict that, in about a century, several parts of the town will be lost to the sea. Just this week, 'high spring tides' caused chaos in Looe yet again, forcing road closures and a flurry of flood warnings. READ MORE: Pilot in SeaWorld crash that killed four reveals what happened moments before disaster Angie Aldridge, who works at Looe's Sarah's Cake Shop, tells The Sun on our visit: "We are fortunate that we are up a couple of steps, but when it does flood there are no ways around town, and when the tide goes out again it leaves mud and debris." Councillor Edwina Hannaford said that businesses can't get flood insurance because insurance companies say it's too risky. … [Read more...] about ‘UK’s most flooded town’ where residents expect homes to be completely underwater soon

March 26, 2023 by www.mirror.co.uk Leave a Comment

A mum used an iPhone tracking app to find her son lying dead in a ditch after he did not return home from a night out. Josh Ashworth, 22, was walking home along the A52, just outside Grantham, Lincolnshire, at around 9.30pm on April 22 last year, when he was hit by a BMW driven by disqualified driver Cole Tresidder, also 22. Lincoln Crown Court heard Josh had been in contact with his family on his iPhone during that evening and when he failed to return home the next morning, they began searching for him. Steven Gosnell, prosecuting, said Josh's family and friends went to the location on the A52 after the tracking app on his iPhone showed it was stationary at the scene near Somerby Hill. Tragically, Josh was found lying face down in a ditch by his own mother, Rachael Ashworth, just after 7am, Mr Gosnell told the court.
