A British-funded charity previously supported by Meghan Markle has denied allegations its workers demanded sex in exchange for cash and food for in the wake of the devastating 2010 earthquake on Haiti. The Mail on Sunday reported allegations, claiming they came from a former employee, but in a statement today the evangelical Christian charity insisted none of their workers were involved. The charity said: "World Vision's extensive investigations into these issues revealed that those involved in sexual exploitation were not World Vision staff. "They were community volunteers and cash-for-work beneficiaries themselves." The charity, which includes Prince Harry's fiancé as a backer and received £17m from the Department of International Development (DfID) last year. Meghan Markle was a global ambassador for the charity from 2016 to 2017. The denial comes after Oxfam admitted that some of its aid workers in Haiti bought prostitutes while supposedly helping the country in 2010. … [Read more...] about Charity supported by Meghan Markle denies staff sexually abused earthquake survivors in Haiti

Meghan and Harry could spend up to three years in Africa for Commonwealth role
Prince Harry and Meghan could move to Africa for up to three years as part of plans to give them a major new role in the Commonwealth, it has emerged. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are expecting their first child in the next few days, have become two of the most popular royals. And Harry’s advisers are reportedly working to create a role that capitalises on their global superstar status. Royal sources said the African scheme was “one of a number of options” but “nothing is off limits”, adding formal plans would not be in place until next year. But the couple are said to be keen to explore the idea in more detail after settling into life as new parents, even though it could fuel talk of a rift between Harry and his brother, Prince William. Meghan Markle and Harry’s Africa job ‘could cost taxpayer £1m in security’
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's security bill to move to Africa could reach £1 million a year, it is claimed. Harry’s advisers are reportedly working to create a role that capitalises on the couple's 'rock star' status, that could see the pair move to the continent for up to three years. But such a move would require a dedicated team of Metropolitan Police Royal protection officers each to accompany them, The Sun reports. Their as-yet unborn baby would also be entitled to its own security, the paper adds. These security details could come with a hefty price tag, met by the British tax payer. A security consultant estimates that could be in the region of £750,000 a year, according to The Sun, with a further £250,000 to cover travel, medical and insurance costs for staff.
