Mum uses iPhone tracking app to find son lying dead in ditch after he didn’t come home

March 26, 2023 by www.mirror.co.uk Leave a Comment

A mum used an iPhone tracking app to find her son lying dead in a ditch after he did not return home from a night out. Josh Ashworth, 22, was walking home along the A52, just outside Grantham, Lincolnshire, at around 9.30pm on April 22 last year, when he was hit by a BMW driven by disqualified driver Cole Tresidder, also 22. Lincoln Crown Court heard Josh had been in contact with his family on his iPhone during that evening and when he failed to return home the next morning, they began searching for him. Steven Gosnell, prosecuting, said Josh's family and friends went to the location on the A52 after the tracking app on his iPhone showed it was stationary at the scene near Somerby Hill. Tragically, Josh was found lying face down in a ditch by his own mother, Rachael Ashworth, just after 7am, Mr Gosnell told the court. Michael Gove admits it was ‘worse than a mistake’ to take drugs after revealing past cocaine-use

March 26, 2023 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

TAKING drugs and thinking it was acceptable was "worse than a mistake", Michael Gove has admitted. The Levelling Up boss was challenged on his own use of cocaine as ministers said they would ban laughing gas in an antisocial behaviour crackdown. He said he had learned through his own experience that it was a "mistake" to "regard drug taking as somehow acceptable". The Levelling-Up Secretary, was grilled on whether some in the public might view ministers' stance on laughing gas as "hypocritical" if they had admitted taking drugs in the past like he had. Mr Gove has previously admitted to taking cocaine in the past. When he was running for the Tory leadership in 2019, he revealed: "I took drugs on several occasions at social events more than 20 years ago... I was a young journalist. It was a mistake." But he told Sky News' Sophy Ridge On Sunday: "No, I think it is because I have learned." Pressed on what he had learned, Mr Gove said: "That it is a mistake - worse … [Read more...] about Michael Gove admits it was ‘worse than a mistake’ to take drugs after revealing past cocaine-use

Rishi Sunak’s tough new stance on anti-social behaviour & hippy crack is welcomed

March 26, 2023 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

Crack on, PM YOU could be forgiven for thinking yet another crackdown on anti-social behaviour is something we’ve seen many times. Some of the measures put forward by Rishi Sunak today — tougher fines for littering and fly-tipping — are extensions of what has gone before, often to little effect. But a tough new stance against the menace of street begging and a plan to make yobs wear jumpsuits highlighting their behaviour are to be welcomed. The headline-grabber is the ban on hippy crack . Last year experts on the body which advises on drugs misuse insisted that making nitrous oxide illegal would be a disproportionate response to the relative harm it does users. But that failed to take into account what a blight it has become in society. March 26, 2023 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

TWO teen yobs with catapults killed four of the King’s swans in a barbaric attack at a rescue sanctuary. Two other swans suffered life-changing injuries and at least a dozen others were badly hurt. A court heard how the two thug pals broke into the Swan Support sanctuary in Datchet, Berkshire . But Wendy Hermon, 52, who runs the sanctuary, had just had CCTV fitted. And when she checked from home to see if the cameras were working she ended up watching 20 minutes of “utterly evil” footage. She said: “I was physically sick. These two boys had catapults and were picking up stones and firing them into swans that were already injured as they cowered at the back of their compound. ‘Hippy crack’ laughing gas to be BANNED in major clampdown on ‘scourge’ of anti-social behaviour

March 26, 2023 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

LAUGHING gas is to be banned under a fresh anti-social behaviour crackdown. Ministers will act to stop teens getting hold of so-called 'hippy crack', Michael Gove confirmed this morning. But he did not reveal what class the drug would be - or whether people will face a criminal sentence if caught with it. Supplying the drug can land offenders jail but it is not illegal to have it. Mr Gove told Sky's Sophy Ridge: "We can't have a situation where our parks, our public spaces become drug taking arenas... these laughing gas canisters are an increasing scourge. "I think any of us who've had the opportunity to walk through our parks in all major cities will have seen these little canisters, which are examples of, not only disappointing public spaces, but also people taking a drug which can have a psychological and neurological effect, and one that contributes to antisocial behaviour overall." Laughing gas, which is known as nitrous oxide, will be banned under the 1971 … [Read more...] about ‘Hippy crack’ laughing gas to be BANNED in major clampdown on ‘scourge’ of anti-social behaviour

RISHI SUNAK: No one should have to live in fear – or be plagued by litter and graffiti

March 26, 2023 by www.dailymail.co.uk Leave a Comment

I grew up in a community where people were expected to behave with good manners and respect; where we were bound by the golden rule to treat others as you would like to be treated yourself. So when a small selfish minority think they can go around ruining things for others with appalling antisocial behaviour, it makes me angry. Too many people suffer from gangs tearing up communities, hurling abuse and making people feel under attack in their own homes. Too many women and girls don’t feel safe walking alone. And we’ve all seen the graffiti scrawled all over town centres – sometimes even on war memorials. It’s shocking and wrong. It’s not fair on the vast majority of people who stick to the rules and abide by the law—and it isn’t inevitable. It can be dealt with, and it will be. Rishi Sunak: 'So when a small selfish minority think they can go around ruining things for others with appalling antisocial behaviour, it makes me angry' We’ve all seen the graffiti … [Read more...] about RISHI SUNAK: No one should have to live in fear – or be plagued by litter and graffiti
