Vietnamese expats bring Industry 4.0 talent home In order for them to contribute to Vietnam’s development and help it meet the challenges of Industry 4.0, the Vietnamese government has called on 100 young, talented Vietnamese people working overseas in the science and technology fields to come home and apply their skills and experience in the homeland. Tran Thi Nhu Hoa, deputy head of the Vietnamese Student Association in South Korea and one of the 100 people selected in the Vietnam Innovation Network Programme led by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, used just one word, “love”, to describe the feeling that overcame her as she was given this opportunity. PM asks for deployment of three contents related to Industry 4.0
Illustraiton photo Specifically, the MPI has reported to the PM on the implementation of three contents relevant to Industry 4.0 including: 1-Establishment of the national strategy on the Industry 4.0 which will be reported to the Government at the end of 2018. 2- Construction of the national creation and renovation center, which will be reported to the PM in October, 2018 and built at the end of 2018. 3-Establishment of a human resource network on the realization of the national strategy on the Industry 4.0. A meeting program for 100 overseas and domestic Vietnamese talents in field of science and technology will be organized from August 18-24, 2018. Human resources a vital element for Industry 4.0
For Vietnam not to lag behind its regional peers in terms of adapting to Industry 4.0, foreign and local firms have suggested that the government should put a heavy focus on human resources and implement a new regulatory framework, create improved infrastructure, and build a national innovation system to enable the country to benefit from the digital revolution.
