Valletta, the capital of Malta is a city I have always wanted to go to and when I finally got the chance to visit Malta back in August, I wasn’t disappointed with Valletta. The city is compact, ideal for a city break and is peppered with luxury hotel options ranging from small boutique hotels within the historical city walls to larger resort style properties outside the city walls. The latest luxury hotel option in Valletta is The Barrister, a boutique hotel which was a former lawyers office, just moments away from Republic Square. Located just a six minute drive from Narita airport, Hotel MyStays Premier Narita was the perfect location for a comfortable night stay before a long journey to Europe. Until last year we always stayed in a nearby hotel before and after flights. But this year that hotel told us that they would no longer be able to accommodate our family of six in the one room. It proved quite difficult to find a hotel that would allow all six of us in the same room. And just when I had given up hope that we would all be able to stay together, I stumbled upon Hotel Mystays Premier. It seemed almost too good to be true. A large clean modern room with three double beds with breakfast included for less than 20,000 yen for the night - for all of us, not per person. When real estate developer (and former Starwood Hotels & Resorts executive) Paul McGowan was touring colleges with his daughter, he couldn’t find decent accommodations near the schools they visited. So he launched Study Hotels in 2008, with the Study at Yale. A modernist tower in Philadelphia followed, and the Study at University of Chicago is due in 2021.
