Joe Biden sending radiation-sniffing planes over fears Putin will nuke Ukraine

July 1, 2022 by www.dailystar.co.uk Leave a Comment

President Joe Biden is sending radiation-sniffing planes to the frontline amid growing fears Vladimir Putin will nuke Ukraine . Pentagon chiefs believe Mad Vlad may launch a “limited strike” with a tactical nuclear weapon to end the war quickly and send a message to the West. The US has spent millions converting three 50-year-old aerial refuelling tankers into “covert nuclear reconnaissance” aircraft. READ MORE: Putin worried after Ukraine’s new long-distance Kamikaze drones cause chaos The planes are packed with sensors which sample air quality to ensure any release of radiation is detected. A senior source said the top-secret jets – which operate under the codename WC-135W Constant Phoenix – were “very important assets”. They added: “We are living in an age of great instability, if the recent Russian attack at Chernobyl had caused a release of contamination these aircraft would have spotted it. “If Putin was to try and test a chemical weapon in Siberia … [Read more...] about Joe Biden sending radiation-sniffing planes over fears Putin will nuke Ukraine

Joe Biden predicts states will try to arrest women who travel for abortions

July 2, 2022 by www.asiaone.com Leave a Comment

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden predicted on Friday (July 1) that some US states will try to arrest women for crossing state lines to get abortions after the Supreme Court overturned the constitutional right to the procedures nationwide. Thirteen Republican-led states banned or severely restricted the procedure under so-called "trigger laws" after the court struck down the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling last week. Women in those states seeking an abortion may have to travel to states where it remains legal. Convening a virtual meeting on abortion rights with Democratic state governors on Friday, Biden said he thinks "people are gonna be shocked when the first state... tries to arrest a woman for crossing a state line to get health services." He added: "And I don't think people believe that's gonna happen. But it's gonna happen, and it's gonna telegraph to the whole country that this is a gigantic deal that goes beyond; I mean, it affects all your basic rights". Biden said … [Read more...] about Joe Biden predicts states will try to arrest women who travel for abortions

Migrants walk north from southern Mexico in protest

July 1, 2022 by www.sfchronicle.com Leave a Comment

TAPACHULA, Mexico (AP) — Some 2,000 migrants, most Venezuelans, walked out of this southern Mexico city early Friday en masse to pressure authorities into allowing them to continue to the United States border at a time attention is focused on immigration. The latest large public exit of migrants from Tapachula follows the discovery of an abandoned semitrailer in San Antonio with more than 60 migrants inside. Fifty-three of them died in the failed smuggling attempt. It also comes a day after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Biden administration did not err in ending the controversial Trump-era policy that forced some asylum seekers to wait out their cases in Mexico. Following other mass movements of migrants from Tapachula last month, the Mexican government quickly negotiated to give them temporary documents. “One hundred percent we go in honor of the migrants who have died, because we all know that it’s no secret for anyone that (the Texas victims) were also fighting for … [Read more...] about Migrants walk north from southern Mexico in protest

Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 2 WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. announced on Friday that it will provide Ukraine with $820 million in new military aid, including new surface-to-air missile systems and counter-artillery radars to respond to Russia's heavy reliance on long-range strikes in the war. Russia in recent days has launched dozens of missiles across Ukraine and pinned down Ukrainian forces with continuous fire for sometimes hours at a time. Ukraine's leaders have publicly called on Western allies to quickly send more ammunition and advanced systems that will help them narrow the gap in equipment and manpower. All told, the U.S. has committed more than $8.8 billion in weapons and military training to Ukraine, whose leaders have sought more help from Western allies to repel larger and heavily equipped Russian forces. About $7 billion of that aid has been announced since Russia's February invasion. "We are going to … [Read more...] about US announces $820M in Ukraine aid, including missile systems

California adds laws targeting ghost guns, sales to minors

This is a carousel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 5 SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California, which already has some of the nation's toughest gun laws, has added new restrictions on untraceable “ghost guns” and on marketing firearms to minors, Gov. Gavin Newsom said Friday. "As the Supreme Court rolls back important gun safety protections and states across the country treat gun violence as inevitable, California is doubling down on commonsense gun safety measures that save lives,” Newsom said in a statement announcing that he had signed the two bills a day earlier. Ghost guns, the privately made weapons without serial numbers, are increasingly being tied to violent crimes. Their proliferation has prompted President Joe Biden's administration to come up with new regulations to crack down on them. Under the new law, California now requires parts used to build firearms to have serial numbers, and gives Californians who have … [Read more...] about California adds laws targeting ghost guns, sales to minors

SHE’S been an actor and a princess - and increasingly Meghan Markle is making waves as a political activist too. The Duchess of Sussex has joined forces with Gloria Steinem to get the Equal Rights Amendment ratified, and insisted she’s willing to march in Washington DC against the Roe v Wade abortion ruling. In an interview with Vogue, Meghan urged men to be “more vocal” with their anger at the Supreme Court’s decision to ban or put strict rules on abortions in 30 American states. Revealing her and Harry ’s reaction to the news was “guttural,” she said: “My husband and I talked about that a lot over the past few days. He's a feminist too. “We have to channel that fear into action. We can start this November in the midterms. We have to vote, every time.” But this isn’t the first time Meghan has shown signs of wanting to make a move into politics. When illegal immigration policies are half-hearted – traffickers thrive & the most vulnerable people die

June 28, 2022 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

Deadly folly WHEN illegal immigration policies are half-hearted, traffickers thrive and the most vulnerable people die. We have seen it in the Channel , with a Tory clampdown thwarted by lazy French cops, our crazy Human Rights Act and left-wing “open borders” campaigners. The result is tens of thousands of migrants a year chancing the crossing in small boats — and dozens drowning. Now, in the US, 50 have been left to die in the hellish heat of a lorry trailer sneaking them into Texas from Mexico . President Joe Biden will not strictly control his southern border. His Democrats believe doing so is cruel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 3 PHOENIX (AP) — FBI agents looking into events surrounding former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss have subpoenaed Arizona Senate President Karen Fann, who orchestrated a discredited review of the election. A second Republican senator who has aggressively promoted the lie that Trump lost because of fraud, Kelly Townsend, also received a subpoena last week, Senate spokeswoman Kin Quintero confirmed. The FBI actions are part of a flurry of recent activity by the Department of Justice as it seeks information from people involved in efforts to discredit the 2020 election results. It is separate from the congressional inquiry into the Capitol insurrection. Fann said on Friday that virtually all her email and text message communications are already public. That's because of records requests and lawsuits by news media groups and American Oversight, a … [Read more...] about FBI subpoenas Republican Arizona Senate president’s records
