Forget the (now defunct) TB Times. There’s a new animated series in New England. Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon has started sharing short videos recapping New England’s most recent game via his Instagram account every Friday. Unlike the TB Times, the “Flash Friday” clips are published after both wins and losses. Fraser Munden, the director of the animated series, started the concept when Gordon was still a member of the Cleveland Browns at the beginning of the season. “I’ve actually been a longtime Josh Gordon fan,” said Munden, who lives in Montreal, Canada. “He’s always had this air of mystery around him ever since he came through the supplemental draft [in 2012].” After tracking the troubled receiver throughout his rookie year, breakout 2013 season, and ensuing twists and turns, Munden said he had been awaiting Gordon’s return to the league “with bated breath.” While watching … [Read more...] about How Josh Gordon got his own animated Instagram series
After Josh Gordon hauled in Tom Brady’s 500th touchdown pass in October, the wide receiver said there were many more to come. “The next history point to make for him,” Gordon said at the time. “I hope to be a part of it.” His wish came true on Sunday during the third quarter of the Patriots’ 24-10 win over the Vikings. On 1st and 10 from the Minnesota 24-yard line, Brady stepped up in the pocket and fired a pass over the middle to Gordon. The wideout, who had found a pocket of space in the Vikings secondary, turned upfield and raced for a touchdown. The score was the 579th of Brady’s career, equalling Peyton Manning’s top mark for career regular season and postseason touchdowns. “I did not know that stat line,” Gordon told reporters postgame. “It must be fate, I guess – I won’t say coincidence – but it’s great to be on the receiving end of it. “[I am] extremely humbled to come out here every … [Read more...] about What Josh Gordon had to say about being on the receiving end of another historic Tom Brady pass
Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon hauled in each of his targets against the New York Jets to collect a team-high five catches Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium. Gordon’s receptions totaled 70 yards of offense for the Patriots, who topped the Jets, 27-13, and improved to 8-3. New England’s rushing corps posted a season-high 215 yards on 36 carries, which Gordon said opened the game up for the rest of the team. Eight Patriots recorded at least one reception. “It takes pressure off the entire offense,” Gordon said of the running game. “It was good to have [offensive guard] Shaq Mason back in the lineup, I think that attributed to a lot of it. Sony [Michel] fought through injuries and being hurt, and the consistency from James White is amazing.” Despite not finding the end zone, Gordon offered meaningful contributions Sunday. Four of his five catches provided a gain of 10-plus yards. One — a 17-yard grab — kept New England’s drive … [Read more...] about No touchdown, but Josh Gordon continues to shine for Patriots
Josh Gordon did not blame his finger injury for a spotty performance against the Tennessee Titans. The Patriots wide receiver reeled in four of the 12 passes Tom Brady threw his way on Sunday. “My hand’s fine,” Gordon told reporters after New England’s 34-10 defeat. “Physically, I feel good. Blessed to walk away with it unharmed, so thankful for that.” Gordon picked up 44 of his 81 total yards in one fell swoop. Facing third and 13 from his own 22-yard line in the first quarter, Tom Brady lofted a deep ball over the top of the Titans secondary. Gordon, known for his ability to stretch the field, caught the pass as Tennessee linebacker Wesley Woodyard closed in. The play was one of the few times Brady had time in the pocket against the Titans defensive front. He was sacked three times and hit on three other occasions en route to a 51 completion percentage. Gordon noted the Patriots offense “did seem a little rusty for sure.” … [Read more...] about Josh Gordon said his hand’s ‘fine’ after several drops against the Titans

Kenny Britt did nothing in his short stint last year. Phillip Dorsett caught just 12 passes for 194 yards last year after being acquired five days before the season opener. Michael Floyd made one great block late in 2016, and otherwise was inactive for the postseason. Tim Wright, Keshawn Martin, and Austin Collie didn’t have much of an impact when they were brought in, either.“It’s tough, I’m not going to lie,” Dorsett said Friday. “They throw a lot at you. You’re living in a hotel, you’re living out of your bag, you’re not accustomed to anything around you. You’ve got to be mentally prepared to be able to go through it. It’s a long process.” … [Read more...] about How impressive has Josh Gordon been for the Patriots?
