Long-distance triathlete Kat Matthews is preparing to take a big step into the unknown after a horrifying collision. The 31-year-old will make her racing comeback next month as she takes on the IRONMAN Texas on April 22. But in that very same US state last year, things went catastrophically wrong for the Brit as she was hit by a car while out on a training ride. She fractured her skull, two vertebrae in her neck, her sternum, a rib and she recently also discovered she’d fractured her hip socket. By her own admission she could have died in that crash. A GUINNESS-loving horse bought for less than the price of a cow is on course for a taste of Cheltenham Gold Cup glory on St Patrick’s Day. Hewick, which cost just £800, will prove the luck really is with the Irish if he lands the festival’s blue riband race today. The eight-year-old was purchased by Co Carlow-based trainer John “Shark” Hanlon for the knock-down price and is now a lively outsider for the big race. The horse made headlines last October when Hanlon took him into his local pub, The Pint Depot, and . A WOMAN has been left stunned after comparing the prices of basic products at Marks & Spencer and Lidl. Kat took to TikTok to share a video , writing over the top: " LIDL vs M&S price comparison, basics edition!" She began with a 1kg bag of carrots, which retails for 50p in both stores. Cucumbers are also the same price in both shops, at 75p each, as well as a 2 pint bottle of milk, which is £1.30 in both. Next up was chicken legs - £2 per kilogram in Marks & Spencer, and £2.09 per kilogram in Lidl. But perhaps one of the biggest surprises was packets of microwave rice, which were 99p in Lidl but just 65p in M&S.
