Teen yobs with catapults killed four of King’s swans in barbaric attack at rescue sanctuary
TWO teen yobs with catapults killed four of the King’s swans in a barbaric attack at a rescue sanctuary. Two other swans suffered life-changing injuries and at least a dozen others were badly hurt. A court heard how the two thug pals broke into the Swan Support sanctuary in Datchet, Berkshire . But Wendy Hermon, 52, who runs the sanctuary, had just had CCTV fitted. And when she checked from home to see if the cameras were working she ended up watching 20 minutes of “utterly evil” footage. She said: “I was physically sick. These two boys had catapults and were picking up stones and firing them into swans that were already injured as they cowered at the back of their compound. Violent protests erupt in France with petrol bombs hurled at police van sparking explosion
BREAKING: pic.twitter.com/rAJvgbHnp1 — Visegrád 24 (@visegrad24) March 25, 2023 More than 3000 police officers are set to confront up 1,500 “violent activists” from among a crowd of 10,000 protesters today. Explosive demostrations have already begun at Saint Solines in central France, where climate activists are staging a "high-risk" protest against new agricultural irrigation infrastructure. The protest is distinct from the pension reform outcry that has blighted the country and seen widespread violence. Despite the global focus on the pension reform demonstrations, reports suggest that the police's greatest concern is the Saint Solines protest. Video footage from the scene shows protesters throwing petrol bombs and burning police vehicles. Flying objects pepper the battered line of vehicles as smoke billows into the air. Protests took place on Thursday in several French cities including Paris where rioters clashed with police who fired teargas and charged the crowds with batons. Ukraine must defeat Putin or every Nato country is at risk from Russia, warns top soldier on Brit war games
UKRAINE must defeat Vladimir Putin or every Nato country could face the wrath of Russia, a top soldier has warned. Estonian colonel Andrus Merilo issued the chilling message as he spoke on the sidelines of Nato war games just 80 miles from Russia . The icy exercises are an annual event – but have taken on a sinister new importance since Putin attacked Ukraine almost a year ago on February 24. With the spectre of the conflict hanging over them, the soldiers from Britain, Estonia, France, and Denmark are all united and dutifully carrying out their drills . Speaking to The Sun Online as his forces carried out intense trench warfare exercises, Colonel Merilo described the herculean effort by the Ukrainians against Putin as a "small miracle". Russia is just a stone's throw away from the training ground, and the Estonian troops are constantly aware of the possible threat posed by an increasingly belligerent Putin . Putin wants to seize Belarus next despite Ukraine disaster – but we’ll never bow to Vlad, says exiled opposition leader
VLADIMIR Putin has his eyes on Belarus - but its people won't go down without a fight and they will never bow down to Russia, the country's exiled opposition leader has vowed. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya sat down with The Sun Online as she gave a defiant message to Minsk and Moscow . This week the English teacher turned opposition leader was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in a prison camp after she ran for president against Putin's puppet leader Alexander Lukashenko . It was an election rife with fraud - with Lukashenko declaring himself the winner with 80 per cent of the vote - and that sparked an uprising as Tsikhanouskaya was forced to flee Belarus. When asked if she had anything to say to Lukashenko regarding her prison sentence, she was brief. Tsikhanouskaya said: "I have nothing to say to this person. He doesn’t care about our country. He doesn’t care about people. He takes care only of his own power." Dmitry Medvedev, who was himself also president of Russia , said he wasn’t sure who’d win a conflict between the two nuclear armed powers. Medvedev is seen as Mad Vlad’s 'yes man' and often makes blood curdling threats against the West. Now he’s warned of the “monstrous” consequences of nuclear in which it would be “impossible to say which army was the first and which second”. Medvedev went on to claim Russia was fighting for his survival against NATO and demanded a “sanitary cordon” up to 60 miles deep around its territory. Watch moment Macron is caught REMOVING £2k watch during TV debate on pension reform after riots swept France
EMMANUEL Macron has been ridiculed after he tried to subtly remove his £2,000 watch from his wrist on TV while discussing his bitterly contested pension reforms. The French President was seen tactfully slipping the luxury timepiece off during a prime-time televised debate on Wednesday. Critics said his clumsy display of wealth during the 30-minute interview was further proof he is "president of the rich." Last week, the French leader raised the retirement age from 62 to 64 without a parliamentary vote, which sparked outrage. While defending his controversial decision - which has triggered violent protests across the country - Macron sported a large watch on his left wrist. It featured a blue face and black strap to correspond with the colours of the President's security unit.
