A court battle is brewing over public grazing leases that New Mexico officials believe were used to help shield a remote desert ranch owned by financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of abusing young women there before he died behind bars.State Land Office General Counsel Ari Biernoff said Monday that the state will defend in court its right to terminate two leases to a company previously controlled by Epstein.Cypress Inc. attorneys say the company subleased the state parcels to a local ranching family for years and complied with lease terms.Cypress is asking a state district court in Santa Fe intervene and preserve the leases. A plane crash turned into a traffic crash when a small aircraft having engine trouble made an emergency landing on an Ohio roadway and rear-ended a car near an intersection.The two pilots aboard the plane and the driver in the BMW they hit weren’t seriously hurt in the Thursday afternoon crash. It happened a couple miles from an airport just south of Dayton.State Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Kramer says the 1979 Piper fixed-wing, single-engine plane had trouble as it was returning to the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport. News : Travel An Air Canada plane was forced to make an emergency landing on September 17th for the strangest reason. Stinky fruit! We’re not talking about old bananas or soft pears. We’re talking about the original “stinky fruit”, the Durian. I have to admit to never having smelled or having tried the “stinky fruit”, but it’s meant to smell like sewage or old used socks. The Air Canada Rouge flight was travelling from Montreal to Vancouver and was forced to make an emergency landing due to the smell of one of these durian fruits. The aircraft climbed to 7,000ft before the crew detected a “strong odour”. At 25,000ft they then made a PAN-PAN call, donned oxygen masks, and returned the aircraft around to return to Montreal. Russian President Vladimir Putin has landed in Saudi Arabia on a trip to the kingdom.Putin’s plane landed just after 1:30 p.m. Monday in Riyadh. An honor guard of Saudi soldiers greeted Putin as he came down the stairs of his plane.Putin’s visit comes after King Salman traveled to Moscow on a state visit in October 2017. It also comes as the kingdom tries to strike a closer relationship with Russia, especially as it has joined OPEC in limiting its oil production to help boost global energy prices.Russia along with Iran meanwhile has aided Syrian President Bashar Assad, whom the kingdom long opposed in his country’s civil war.
