Hosted by Tom and Diane Schoenith along with the Gatzaros family — Maria, Nico and Ellena — a little more than 100 guests came out to sing their favorite Christmas songs and enjoy fine dining from the London Chop House’s menu. One of Detroit’s most coveted holiday traditions, tickets were $250 each, $10,000 for Booth No. 1 and Booth No.2. Attendees raised more than $33,000. A PERSON who was hit by a train on a Portsmouth to London railway line has died, British Transport Police have said. Emergency services were called to Berrylands station at 8.47am after reports of an incident between stations at Surbiton and Clapham Junction.British Transport Police have confirmed the person hit has died and officers are working to identify and inform their family. Lines have reopened after being closed because of the incident this morning, but South Western Railway has said disruption is expected to last until 9pm. Services out of Portsmouth have been affected, but South Western Railway said delayed passengers will have their tickets accepted on Southern services between Wimbledon, Clapham Junction and London Victoria – as well as London Victoria and Portsmouth Harbour. They can also use London Underground services ‘by any reasonable route’. NEW YORK (AP) — The World Series champion Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees will open Major League Baseball’s first series in Britain with a night game and conclude the next day in the afternoon. MLB said Friday that the June 29 game at London’s Olympic Stadium will start at 6:10 p.m. local time (1:10 p.m. EDT) and be broadcast in the United States by Fox as part of its Saturday “Game of the Week” coverage. The following day’s game is set for 3:10 p.m. (10:10 a.m. EDT) and will be a “Sunday Morning Baseball” special event for ESPN, which also will have its regular Sunday night game at 7:10 p.m. Boston is the home team in both games, played at the home of the Premier League club West Ham.
