FORMER Love Islanders Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury broke the internet by announcing the very unusual name for their new baby. The happy couple plumped for the Disney-inspired Bambi, and it has proved almost as divisive as Brexit. Influencer Molly-Mae is said to have set her heart on the name when she was young and she told fans in a video on her YouTube channel last year that they will either “love or hate” it. While she and boxer Tommy , both 23, have received some positive feedback, Molly-Mae has now disabled the comments function on her name-reveal post. Prior to the birth, she told fans on YouTube: “It’s a really really unusual and a different name, I do not know anybody else with the name. “I’ve not seen any other girls with the name before, it’s that different.” READ MORE ON BEING NAMED BAMBI OH DEER I named my kid Bambi like Molly-Mae & Tommy Fury - I'm trolled but don't care A BIG FAWN I've same name … [Read more...] about Meet the mums who called their babies Bambi like Molly-Mae – who reveal how others react

OZZY Osbourne has announced he's cancelling his upcoming UK and European tour after a recent operation has meant he's "not physically capable". Ozzy , the 74-year-old Black Sabbath icon, has had a series of nasty injuries and health issues over the past few years, including a spinal injury after an accident in his home in 2019, and being diagnosed with Parkinson's the same year. Unfortunately, after a series of corrective operations for his spine, he's had to put all appearances and performances on hold indefinitely so he has time to recover. Announcing the news on Instagram , Osbourne wrote in a statement: "This is probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to share with my loyal fans. As you may know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine. "My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage. My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy … [Read more...] about Ozzy Osbourne cancels UK and Ireland tour with heartbreaking statement

AT 17, Guy Phoenix was kicked out of his Nottingham home and spent several months living in a car. But, like his mythical namesake, he rose from the ashes to become the go-to builder for the super rich, constructing luxury homes that sell for up to £25million. His extravagant designs come with unique features such as a shark tank, an indoor jungle lagoon, panic rooms, champagne rooms, hairdressing salons and bedrooms bigger than the average house. Incredibly the 49-year-old, whose clients include footballers , boxers and racing drivers as well as billionaire businessmen, shuns architect drawings and works from instinct and vision alone. Guy’s maverick methods and colourful personality are showcased in the new Channel 4 show, Building Britain’s Superhomes, which airs tonight. The two-parter follows the self-taught builder and his team as they tackle a difficult £4.5million build on a steep slope in Nottingham ’s exclusive Park Estate, in the shadow of the city’s … [Read more...] about I was kicked out of school at 16 & had to live in my car… now I build £25m superhomes with shark tanks & champagne rooms

Parents fuming as they find out their children’s schools are closed hours before teacher walkout – what are your rights?

February 1, 2023 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

HUNDREDS of panicked parents only found out their children's schools were closed due to teacher strike action just hours before the walkout. Teachers weren't required to give advance notice if they were participating in today's mass protest, so many families were left in the dark until last night or even arriving at the gates this morning. It means there was a mad scramble to find costly last-minute childcare and permission to work from home or have a day off to supervise remote lessons. Dad Jonathan Wilkie, whose child attends Glade Hill Primary in Nottingham , said: "I found out at 3pm [yesterday] that my youngest is off school due to teacher strikes. Handy. "I admire teachers as coaches for the future and they deserve to be paid fairly, but telling us with less than 24 hours notice is shocking. "Booking a childminder requires payment and if you don't use it, you lose it." Do I have to homeschool my kids during teacher strikes – and could I be fined?

February 1, 2023 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

TEACHER strikes will force thousands of kids to stay home over the coming weeks - and potentially parents too. But are mums and dads obligated to homeschool their youngsters during the mass walkouts ? The Department for Education says parents have a legal duty to ensure any school -registered child of compulsory school age regularly attends class. However, the rules become slightly muddy during industrial action as many schools partially or fully close due to a lack of staff. In short though, there is no legal requirement to teach the curriculum on strike days - and that applies to all educators and locations. It means by law, the content of lessons, if they happen at all, is flexible and not enforced. IN the past 100 days, I’ve made it my job to make sure this Government is focused day in and day out on your priorities. We’ve stopped the freefall in our economy . But there is much more still to do. There are five urgent tasks I have set myself to fix the problems that matter most to Sun Readers. Your bills are rising too quickly. Your wait for medical treatment is too long . Your sense of unfairness is sparked by the abuse of our immigration system . Create jobs So first, we’re going to halve inflation . I get how tough life is right now. Every week, every bill coming through the letterbox gets more and more expensive. An employment lawyer has now revealed the consequences you may face if you turn up to work looking worse for wear - and what rights you need to be aware of. Victoria Schofield, a solicitor at Slater & Gordon , warned revellers they could get into trouble if they pull a sickie over the World Cup.
