Climate protesters try to “occupy” London city airport

London police dragged away several chanting and singing climate protesters on Thursday (Oct 10) who tried to "occupy" an international airport serving the British capital's global financial hub. Some protesters were wearing business suits AFP/DANIEL LEAL-OLIVAS Uniformed officers were seen dragging several Extinction Rebellion group demonstrators from outside London City Airport, although there was no immediate official tally of arrests. Campaigners, some of them in business suits, also staged a sit-in on the platform of the nearby overground train station. Others unfurled the group's trademark pink banner showing an hour glass - a symbol of time running out to save the planet from a "climate emergency". The year-old group backed by Swedish teen activist Greta Thunberg is spearheading a two-week global action that kicked off Monday with partial shutdowns of traffic in cities stretching from Sydney to New York. Forbes names world’s best hotel bars and six are in the UK

THE best hotel bars in the world have been revealed - with six of them found in London. Of the 44 winners, the well-known Shangri-La Hotel and The Dorchester both featured. Also on the list in the UK was The Connaught, The Langham, The Savoy and Hotel 41. The winning list, revealed by Forbes, looked across 13 countries at both the creativity and variety of drinks, as well as the best service, snacks and interior. The US also came out on top with 11 winners, while France, Italy and the UAE also featured, among others. Promising land of on ground airport services

The new players to the aviation market are also setting eyes on the hugely profitable on-ground airport services. Private-sector competition in on-ground airport services would go a long way towards improving quality Vietnam's aviation market is gathering speed as more and more new players like Vietravel Airlines, Vinpearl Air, and KiteAir are entering the market. Additionally, some airline giants also want to exercise on-ground airport services to improve quality and competitiveness against other players. Recently, Vietjet was seeking permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) to provide on-ground services at Noi Bai and Cam Ranh international airports from January 1, 2020. At Noi Bai, the air carrier has 18 aircraft, flying on 15 domestic and 16 international air routes with 150 flights a day on average. Honolulu airport ranked third worst in customer satisfaction

HONOLULU — A customer satisfaction survey of air passengers has ranked Honolulu's airport as the third worst in North America. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Tuesday that Daniel K. Inouye International Airport has received the ranking in the J.D. Power 2019 North America Airport Satisfaction Study. Inouye airport ranks behind New York's LaGuardia Airport and New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport as the worst among 62 airports. Honolulu ranks second worst in the large-airport category, where it was fourth worst the previous year. The annual study conducted from October 2018 through September is based on responses from 32,276 U.S. or Canadian residents who passed through at least one North American airport.
