Substandard products removed from Ministry’s list The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has removed unsafe and substandard pesticide, veterinary medicine, fertilizer from its list. 1,774 pesticide products; 1,052 veterinary medicine and 3,621 fertilizers were banned in Vietnam as per the Ministry’s decision. Additionally, the Ministry said that there has been progress in linkage between farmers and enterprises in consumption and supply chains of safe agricultural produce. There has been 1,249 supply chains with 1,450 safe products and 3,181 places to sell safe products in 63 cities and provinces. Enterprises such as Vingroup, Dabaco, Hung Nhon, Sanha, Ba Huan poured its investment in cooperatives and household farms to provide high qualified agricultural products on a large scale. Vietnam Cooperative Alliance also set up supermarket chains connecting with over 100 agricultural cooperatives to form supply chains of safe farm produce. Then smoke and flames filled the sky outside his kitchen window.“It scared me real bad,” said Staples, who lives about 100 feet from where a small plane went down about 12:10 p.m. “He just missed my house.” The Cessna 560 crashed in English Park in northwest Atlanta shortly after taking off from Fulton County Airport, Atlanta Fire Rescue Department Sgt. Cortez Stafford said during a news conference at the scene.Local officials reported three victims had been aboard; none survived. Victims’ names haven’t been released by Thursday evening. At the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum 2018 last month, Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Manh Hung suggested that the Prime Minister should soon recognize English as the second official language of Vietnam to help startups reach out to the world. The proposal stirred a heated discussion on social media and prompted numerous professionals to pitch in with their views and opinions. While some welcomed the idea and supported widespread use of the language in Vietnam, others were wary of the cultural, legal and other implications of formalizing it as an official language. Everyone agreed that it was good to improve English use and fluency in the country, so the debate boiled down to whether declaring and using it as an official language was a feasible, practical option for Vietnam. Thanh Thanh Cong Investment acquires 35 million SBT shares, lifting ownership to 32 per cent Thanh Thanh Cong Investment JSC has purchased 35 million shares in Thanh Thanh Cong - Bien Hoa JSC (SBT), lifting its ownership in the sugar manufacturer to 158.5 million shares, an equivalent of 32 per cent of SBT’s capital. The number fell short of its total registered purchase of 45 million shares. Shares in SBT were trading at around VND20,000-22,000 (US$0.90) on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange during the purchasing time from November 16 to December 14, putting the deal value at more than VND750 billion ($32 million). Earlier in November, chairwoman of Thanh Thanh Cong Investment JSC Dang Huynh Uc My completed the purchase of 20 million shares of SBT, raising her stake to 10.6 per cent.
