Texan authorities are probing the death of a 21-year-old woman after her in-laws discovered her dismembered body in their home. The Daily Mirror reported that their son, who was the victim's husband of three months, allegedly confessed to killing her during a police interview. In a news briefing covered by Fox 26 Houston on Thursday, Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry said the local police department was alerted to "a possible deceased person" around 4.18pm local time on Wednesday. A newlywed accused of decapitating his wife was spotted guzzling down on a pint of beer following the "gruesome" killing. Disturbing CCTV footage showed Jared Dicus pick up a beer, drinking it and leaving without paying just hours after the alleged killing took place. Electricity was cut off in parts of El Salvador and walls crumbled, but there were no reports of widespread damage. The quake hit in the Pacific Ocean 170 kilometers southeast of the capital San Salvador, at a depth of 70 kilometers, the US Geological Survey said. It gave the preliminary magnitude as 7.4 but later lowered it to 7.3. The rumbling of the earth was felt along the Central American coast, stretching south to Nicaragua and Costa Rica and inland to Honduras. In El Salvador, a man died when an electrical pylon fell on him in the city of San Miguel, its mayor Wilfredo Salgado told YSKL radio. A man accused of decapitating his newlywed wife has allegedly been caught on camera stealing beer from her workplace just hours after the killing. Disturbing CCTV footage from a convenience store in Texas, obtained by local media, appeared to show Jared Dicus, 21, picking up a beer before drinking it and leaving without paying. Police claimed he killed his wife, Anggy Diaz, 21, who worked in the shop, on the same day. He had married her just four months earlier. The Biden administration has greenlit an expanded use of a 1950s-era program to allow tens of thousands of migrants temporary residency in the United States for humanitarian or other urgent reasons, deepening its use of executive authority to shape border policy. The newer approach to the program, known as parole, offers entry to migrants from specific countries under special conditions, such as applying online. The U.S. will accept up to 30,000 migrants a month from Haiti, Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, while also tightening border enforcement. While previous administrations have used parole to deal with emergencies or humanitarian challenges, Biden has made more frequent use of the authority than any other president.
