RESIDENTS living in the shadow of THREE notorious UK prisons say they hear screams every night and fear a mass breakout. HMP Belmarsh houses killer cop Wayne Couzens , Manchester Arena plotter Hashem Abedi and Lee Rigby machete terrorist Michael Adebolajo . The Category A slammer shares a vast 411,000sq metre plot with Cat B HMP Thameside and Young Offenders Institute HMP ISIS on the southern banks of the Thames estuary. Many living in the Thamesmead area , SE London, have connections to the three lock ups - with dozens of current and former prison staff living in houses outside the perimeter fence. While residents are more than used to the prisons, some say they are left terrified by the inmates who they can hear screaming at night. THEY have been told to expect the worst – to prepare themselves for recovering thousands of bodies. But there were still moments of joy yesterday for rescue workers toiling in the aftermath of the Japan earthquake. One pensioner was pulled from her washed-away home and a young man was discovered alive in the rubble of his apartment building. Word of each miraculous recovery spread, giving exhausted rescuers even more determination to keep digging. Four days on from the devastating 8.9 quake and its monster tsunami, nobody is giving up hope. More than 100,000 troops are taking part in the hunt – ignoring sub-zero temperatures as they carry out the painstaking searches. In yesterday’s most dramatic rescue, 70-year-old Sai Abe was found alive in tsunami-ravaged Otsuchi. Mum who thought she was suffering with menopause symptoms dies of brain tumour

The family of a tragic mum who thought what turned out to be brain tumour was symptoms of the menopause have paid an emotional tribute to her. 'Beautiful' Sarah Hawkes, 45, died in her sleep before she could attend a scan to identify the 'silent killer'. She passed away at her home in Newcastle, Tyneside, after experiencing migraines and brain fog. Her devastated relatives had no idea what had caused her death until they received a report from the coroner that they discovered she had a stage four brain tumour. Doctors had arranged for her to have a brain scan after but she didn't survive to attend the appointment.
