Larry Printz, Tribune News Service 10:20 AM In what’s best described as a belated Christmas present, Land Rover revealed that a new Defender is coming to America in 2020. Land Rover will begin on- and off-road testing of camouflaged prototypes in North America in January. Testing in the new world helps engineers fine tune the new Defender’s performance in temperatures from -40 F to 120 F at altitudes of more than 13,000 feet above sea level. Perhaps to beat spy photographers to the punch, Land Rover released images of the camouflaged prototypes, which show a boxy SUV going through its paces, as well beauty shots in an urban environment. “This announcement is a holiday gift to our Defender fans in North America and a hint of what’s to come in the New Year,” said Kim McCullough, vice president of marketing for Jaguar Land Rover North America in a statement. Garrett Neese Daily Mining Gazette Published 3:01 AM EST Dec 26, 2018 Houghton — Two Michigan Technological University researchers contributed to a new report showing how carbon is being released or stored in North America. Rodney Chimner and Evan Kane, a professor and associate professor in the School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science, respectively, contributed to the Second State of the Carbon Cycle Report. The report, which attempts to catalog and track carbon as it circulates in North America, is updated every 10 years. Both were contributing writers on Chapter 13, which covers wetlands. “Basically you’re summarizing every study that’s ever been done on topics that you’re chosen to do, so you have to read a lot of papers, synthesize all that information into very concise statements, because you don’t have a lot of space,” Chimner told The Daily Mining Gazette. Each contributed on their specialties. For Kane, that meant … [Read more...] about Michigan Tech has hand in North America carbon report

Yellow stones typically sell at a discount to Type IIa top whites often found in the best African mines.
