Police in North Macedonia say a patrol has found 45 migrants on a main highway near the central town of Veles and arrested a van driver.The 45 Pakistani migrants were discovered packed in the van early Sunday. Police say the 28-year-old driver, a Macedonian national, was arrested.The migrants are believed to have entered North Macedonia illegally from Greece and are expected to be deported back.Although officially closed since 2016, the so-called Balkan route remains active for the illegal transfer of migrants to wealthier European countries. North Coast 500 has helped ‘boost Scottish economy by £22m’

The study, conducted by the Moffat Centre for Tourism at Glasgow Caledonian University, found that the North Coast 500 generated more than £22.89million in Gross Value Added (GVA) throughout 2018. The report also found the iconic touring route had created 180 full time equivalent jobs in the North Highlands within the same time period. Also known as the NC500, the 516 mile-long (805km) route has become a highly popular destination with tourists, with a network of roads around the region’s north, east and west coasts. Launched as a tourism concept in 2015, the NC500 report also highlights an additional £13.46million in sales for accommodation, attraction, activity and retail businesses on or near the route in 2018. Auction results sealed for seized North Korea carp ship
A U.S.-seized North Korean cargo ship suspected in international sanction violations was sold in a sealed auction.The Wise Honest was seized in May and towed it to American Samoa. Indonesia detained the ship in 2018 while it was transporting coal.The U.S. Marshals Service says they don’t disclose winning amounts or buyers in sealed-bid auctions.The Justice Department didn’t immediately say Wednesday where sale proceeds will go. Otto Warmbier’s parents filed a claim to the ship, seeking to collect on a multimillion-dollar judgment in the American college student’s death. They say he was tortured in North Korea after being convicted of trying to steal a propaganda poster.Relatives of South Korea-born Rev. Dong Shik Kim filed a similar claim. Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines was named the best North American airline for the second year in a row. Business Traveller magazine announced the winners of its 2019 Business Traveller Awards this week, and Delta once again took top honors in the category of best North American airline. The awards recognize excellence in travel and hospitality. Innovations such as its pre-select meal program and facial recognition technology were cited as reasons for the win, according to the airline, as well as the new A330 aircraft used on select routes. The airline was the first North American airline to operate the state-of-the-art aircraft. The awards were voted on by business travelers in a survey conducted by an independent market research company, and the results were announced Monday at a ceremony in London.
