A BOY aged 13 has been arrested on suspicion of terror offences after allegedly sharing extremist material online. The teen's home in West London was searched by specialist police officers after his arrest yesterday. He was quizzed in custody on suspicion of dissemination of terrorist material (contrary to section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006). The boy has been bailed to a date in mid-June, the Met confirmed. Officers say the investigation relates to "the alleged sharing of extreme Islamist material online". The force will now work with safeguarding agencies as the probe continues. (AP) — A Virginia man has been charged in a March shooting that killed a newspaper reporter and two other young bystanders when a fight broke out at closing time outside a Norfolk bar, police announced Wednesday. One of the victims was Sierra Jenkins, 25, of Norfolk, a reporter for the region's daily newspaper, The Virginian-Pilot. The March 19 shooting also claimed the lives of Devon M. Harris, 25, and Marquel S. Andrews, 24, both of Portsmouth. Antoine M. LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — A former University of Kansas soccer goalie has been killed and her husband has been charged with first-degree murder in her death, police said. Officers found Regan Noelle Gibbs, 25, fatally wounded Monday night in her apartment in Lawrence, Kansas. Police said her husband, 26-year-old Chad Joseph Marek, called 911, and he was arrested at the scene. Police said Gibbs' killing was likely a result of domestic violence but declined to say Wednesday how she was killed. Gibbs was a goalkeeper for the Jayhawks’ soccer program from 2015 through 2018. She was a native of Naches, Washington, and a member of two NCAA Tournament teams during her career at Kansas, according to the university's athletics department website. The 28-year-old woman appeared in court on Wednesday on three misdemeanor child endangerment counts. A judge ordered her release from Cook County Jail on $1,000 bond. During the hearing, prosecutors alleged that the woman's 8-year-old son found the gun underneath her bed and took it to Walt Disney Magnet School on the city’s North Side on Tuesday. A homicide victim in an ongoing Colorado Springs case has been identified, and a suspect in the case is also being investigated for assaulting a police officer and stealing the officer’s patrol vehicle. Charles Slabaugh, 59, died from “multiple sharp force injuries,” according to El Paso County Coroner’s Office. The stabbing victim was killed Friday night inside an apartment as part of a violent crime spree , according to a police news release. Osemeke Uwadibie, 31, is being held without bond in the El Paso County Jail on investigation of first-degree murder, police said. Uwadibie allegedly assaulted a police officer and stole the officer’s vehicle, leading police on a high-speed chase on Interstate 25 which involved multiple crashes allegedly caused by the suspect. Contra Costa County prosecutors said they charged a homeless man with murder Tuesday for killing a Walnut Creek resident after an argument. Guadalupe Jose Robles, 29, is facing an enhancement to the charge for “intentionally firing a handgun” in the May 5 killing of 25-year-old Shafi Kevin Qasimi, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement Wednesday. Robles was camped out near a creek in the area of Diamond Boulevard and Willow Pass Road in Concord when he got into an argument with Qasimi. Robles accused him of having used bear spray on a friend of his that day and then threatened to use bear spray on him, officials said. When Qasimi walked away from Robles’ encampment, Robles and two other people followed him. Someone handed Robles a handgun, and he fired the weapon once, fatally striking Qasimi in the head, officials said.
