Analysis: Michigan State vs. Ohio State scouting report Jeff Seidel Ohio State 26, Michigan State 21: Here is something we haven’t said very often: Ohio State is in a rut after a 49-20 loss at Purdue and a near-disaster against Nebraska. I would pick MSU, if the Spartans had a more consistent offense. But Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins will be the difference. Shawn Windsor Michigan State 23, Ohio State 17: The Spartans have a chance to be as healthy as they've been since the beginning of the year — if quarterback Brian … [Read more...] about Michigan State-Ohio State predictions: Spartans pull upset?
The Detroit News Published 5:48 PM EST Nov 8, 2018 Matt Charboneau, Angelique S. Chengelis, John Niyo and Bob Wojnowski of The Detroit News offer their predictions on the outcome of Saturday's Michigan State vs. Ohio State game at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing (noon, Fox/760). Matt Charboneau: The Buckeyes haven’t been great defensively and until last week haven’t run the ball well this season. But, as Mark Dantonio said, they’re still 8-1. They present plenty of challenges for the Spartans, who have a chance to once again prove they have an elite defense. If the offense can get going, Michigan State can win. However, the offense hasn’t shown on a consistent basis that it can be anything but ordinary, and that won’t be enough in this matchup. Ohio State, 24-20 Angelique S. Chengelis: The “revenge tour” isn’t exclusive to Michigan. The Spartans are seeking to avenge their 48-3 loss at Ohio State last year, and they just might have … [Read more...] about Detroit News predictions: Michigan State Spartans vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

Matt Charboneau The Detroit News Published 1:13 PM EST Nov 7, 2018 East Lansing — Bring up last season’s trip to Ohio State, and the mood quickly sours around Michigan State’s football facilities this week. For a team that has had as much success as any in the Big Ten against the Urban Meyer-led Buckeyes, last year’s matchup was anything but for the Spartans. Before most could settle into their seats at Ohio Stadium, the Buckeyes already were beginning their onslaught as Mike Weber burst through for a 47-yard touchdown on Ohio State’s opening drive. By the time things were all said and done, Weber, the former Detroit prep star, had added an 82-yard gallop and Ohio State finished with 335 yards rushing to go with 524 total yards as Ohio State cruised to a 48-3 victory. The final stat sheet was as one-sided as it’s ever been under Mark Dantonio as Weber and JK Dobbins each ran for more than 100 yards and Michigan State managed just 195 … [Read more...] about Against Ohio State, MSU embarks on a revenge tour of its own
