Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Vietjet sign MoU At the MoU signing ceremony (Photo: hanoimoi.com.vn) The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and Vietjet Air signed in Hanoi on March 28 a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for 2019 – 2021. Under the MoU, the two sides will work together to increase promotion on mass media; introduce publications, documents and market researches; cooperate in an international tourism fair and Vietnamese tourism abroad; and organise domestic destination surveys and events. The MoU provides travel opportunities and convenience for Vietnamese people and international tourists, connecting Vietnam to destinations around the world, where Vietjet has direct flights. Ninh Thuan greenlights tourism projects Ninh Thuan Province People’s Committee has granted principle approvals for two large-scale tourism projects, worth a total VND2.5 trillion (US$107.3 million). Financed by Royal Ninh Thuan development and investment joint stock company, the 87.5ha tourism complex will be developed at Phuoc Diem Commnue, Thuan Nam District. It will comprise a five-star hotel with 500 rooms, 100 high-end villas and a convention centre, restaurants and an entertainment area. The complex, worth VND2 trillion, is slated for completion in June, 2022. Meanwhile, the second project — invested by Ninh Thuan international tourism joint stock company — will cover 6.56ha at Khanh Hai Town, Ninh Hai District. Edelweiss launches Zurich-HCMC air service Vinalines to auction shares of its subsidiary Viet Nam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) will auction over 13.44 million shares of its holding in Viet Nam Transport and Chartering Joint Stock Company (Vitranschart) on December 5, the Ha Noi Stock Exchange has announced. The shares, accounting for a 22.03 per cent stake of Vitranschart, will be auctioned at the Ha Noi bourse at the starting price of VND1,200 (5 US cents) a share. Vinalines is currently Vitranschart’s parent shareholder with a total of 35.4 million shares, equivalent to 58 per cent of the firm’s voting shares in circulation. Currently, Vitranschart is trading at VND700 per share, and there is almost no matched stock in recent sessions. Vitranschart reported a loss of more than VND182 billion in the first nine months of 2018.
