Humza Yousaf revealed as new SNP leader after fiery five-week contest
HUMZA Yousaf has been elected as the next leader of the SNP after a fiery five-week contest. The Health Secretary saw off Finance Secretary Kate Forbes and former community safety minister Ash Regan in their bid to replace Nicola Sturgeon. Ms Sturgeon announced in February that she would resign after more than eight years in the job once her successor has been chosen. Mr Yousaf will become Scotland's youngest First Minister and also the first ever person from a minority ethnic background to hold the post. Responding to the news, Nicola Sturgeon said he will be an "outstanding leader" and "could not be prouder" to have him succeed her. ‘Not a job that’s done’: Salesforce may cut yet more workers, executive says
Salesforce has already laid off more than 7,000 workers this year. Now, more cuts may be on the way. The San Francisco corporate tech titan’s chief operating officer, Brian Millham, told Bloomberg in an interview published Friday that Salesforce could cut jobs again, pending a review of the business by the consulting firm Bain & Company. The company has been under pressure from activist investors to improve its profitability. Salesforce’s first layoff round of the year came in January , a blow for the thousands of workers who lost their jobs and a crack in the company’s kindly, familial image. CEO Marc Benioff took responsibility for the cuts and blamed overhiring during the pandemic. He stood by the move in a recent interview .
