Abbott honors Laura Bush, Simone Biles and Tammie Jo Shults as Texas Women’s Hall of Fame inductees
AUSTIN — Former first lady Laura Bush and six other Texas women were honored in Austin on Thursday as they were inducted into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame. The newest members of the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame include Bush, who was honored for her commitment to public service; Tammie Jo Shults, the Southwest Airlines pilot who made an emergency landing on plane headed for Dallas, and U.S. Olympic gymnast Simone Biles.“Today we recognize seven extraordinary women whose strength, perseverance and passion embodies what it means to be a Texan,” Gov.
