Emma Keith Detroit Free Press Published 1:25 PM EDT Aug 14, 2019 Do you know this GoPro? That's what one Reddit user wants to know about the camera his girlfriend found in the Upper Peninsula nearly two weeks ago. Nick Troskey said his girlfriend, Stephanie Ray, found a GoPro Aug. 2 while snorkeling at Black Rocks, a cliff diving spot near Marquette. In an attempt to find the camera's original owners, Troskey shared a family photo from the GoPro that he believes was taken at Tahquamenon Falls. From the photos on the GoPro, which also show stops at Pictured Rocks and Black Rocks, Troskey said it looks like the family members were tourists, possibly from the Detroit area. The last file on the camera, captured July 31, is a video of a man dropping the GoPro and the camera sinking roughly 20 feet into Lake … [Read more...] about Lose a GoPro in Mich.’s U.P.? Visit The Boston Globe Share on Twitter Share on Facebook Comment on this Scroll to top of page By Diane Bair and Pamela Wright Globe correspondents January 08, 2019 Longing for a sequel to last year’s Oscar winner for best picture, “The Shape of Water”? Here’s the next best thing: A visit to the MUSA underwater park off the coast of Cancun. The figure in the sculpture “Resurrection” by Jason deCaires Taylor in Punta Nizuc looks a lot like the marine creature in the hit movie. This one even sports an extra layer of algae. Perhaps Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro got inspired here, or perhaps you’ll be motivated to write some fan fiction? Or not. But it’s still a very cool thing to see.Eerie. Creepy. Odd. Mystical. Alluring. Provocative. These are the adjectives that divers and snorkelers use to describe the undersea world of more than 500 pieces of art that grace the seafloor here. “ALOE, spelt A-L-O-E,” Sir Richard Branson said as he stared at my sunburnt face. After a day in Barbados, I’d turned as red as the Virgin logo, so naturally, upon meeting the billionaire I asked him for skincare advice. It turns out, as a fellow blond, who has lived in the Caribbean for decades, Branson knew exactly what to suggest. “The local people just cut open the plant. It really does work straight away. It’s fantastic. “Obviously the other way is just not to get sunburnt in the first place.” I was at the launch of the Virgin Holidays Departure Beach — a private beach club designed for travellers to maximise the last day of their holiday. Branson had flown in from Necker Island, his home in the British Virgin Islands, especially to attend the star- studded opening party on the stunning Brownes Beach. Joined by a host of famous faces including two Pixies — Lott and Geldof — top model Lottie Moss and Made In … [Read more...] about Luxurious Virgin Holidays beach club full of celebs opens for travellers on their final day in Barbados
