By Meredith Goldstein Globe staff Sometimes I hear about a kind of jealousy between people in New York City and Boston. But it has nothing to do with baseball. It’s about a different thing. My single friends in Boston tell me it would be “sooo much easier” to find love if they lived in New York City. Those friends (and some Boston-area readers of my Globe advice column) believe that the dating options would be more plentiful in New York, and that there’d be a better night life scene for meeting strangers. They know for certain there’d be a more diverse dating pool — and perhaps fewer men on apps in TB12 hats. (Not judging the apparel, but that particular look and fandom isn’t for everyone.) Meanwhile, some of my single friends and readers in New York City have wondered whether it might be easier to find a partner in Boston. Police seize bulk of smuggled wine Police in Ho Chi Minh City’s district 1 yesterday said that they have seized 500 bottles of wine without receipt in a car. While patrolling on Thursday, policemen of the Police Agency on Economic and Corruption Crimes (C46) under the Ministry of Public Security found a Toyota vehicle with red plate travelling in district 1 suspicious; therefore, they stopped the vehicle. Driver Pham Van Viet showed document of the vehicle but not with the red plate. They discovered five containers of Chivas Regel Aged 12 year each container with two bottles of wine; 20 containers of Johorie wine each container with 12 bottles of wine and 20 containers of Kakhia Coffe Liqucur wine each container with 12 bottles of wine. The vehicle was carrying 490 bottles of wine totally. The driver couldn’t show any document relating to the wine. Border guard forces arrest Lao drug smuggler in Nghe An The drugs seized in the case (Photo: baonghean.vn) Forces of the Border Guard High Command and the Border Guard of the central province of Nghe An arrested a Lao citizen transporting 50,000 meth pills and 6kg of crystal meth into Vietnam on December 27. Tho No Bi, 36, a resident in the Lao province of Houaphan’s Xam Tay district, was caught red handed in Muong Phu village’s border area in Thong Thu commune, Que Phong district. The suspect admitted that he was smuggling the drugs from Laos into to Vietnam for distribution. The case is under further investigation. Vietnam and Laos share a borderline of nearly 2,340 km that runs across through 10 Vietnamese provinces, namely Dien Bien, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, and Kon Tum.
