The HSBC survey of more than 8,500 companies in 34 markets, “Navigator: Now, Next and How for Business”, found that businesses were making sustainability changes in their supply chains to improve their bottom line. Ethical and environmental sustainability were seen as very important to both goods and services businesses in Viet Nam, according to the survey’s results. Enterprise Rent-A-Car to enter Vietnamese market The US’s biggest car rental company, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, will officially offer its services in Viet Nam starting on November 29. The company’s website enterprise.vn is now opening for rental services, with vehicles of five to 29 seats. The prices range from VND800,000 (US$34.19) a day for a Suzuki Vitara to VND2.6 million per day for a Samco bus. Enterprise’s car rental services in Viet Nam (and Asia) are licensed to MP Executives – a subsidiary of MP Group – which has more than 23 years of experience in the logistics industry in Viet Nam. Vietnam Airlines adopts QR Pay Vietnam Airlines has signed a deal with Việt Nam Payment Solution Joint Stock Company (VNPAY) – the biggest QR code payment firm in Viet Nam, to apply QR code technology for online ticket bookings. With the deal, Vietnam Airlines becomes a pioneer in Việt Nam’s aviation sector by using QR codes for online ticket booking at :vietnamairlines.com Customers will have a new, safer and more convenient way to pay for their flights. Accordingly, QR Pay will be implemented both online and at Vietnam Airlines’ official ticket office system nationwide from the beginning of this month. After successfully booking their tickets, customers will be able to use the QR code to pay without entering bank account of card information. The QR Pay system ensures safety thanks to two-factor verification including mobile banking sign in and one-time pass (OTP) through SMS or fingerprint verification. Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — A majority of credit institutions in the country expects an upward trend in their business in the remaining months of the year, after making improvements in the first quarter. This was revealed in a survey released on Wednesday by the State Bank of Việt Nam. According to the business sentiment survey, which covered domestic and foreign commercial banks in the country, 75 per cent of the respondents expected better results in the second quarter, while 84 per cent hoped their business performance throughout 2018 to improve further compared to last year. Of this, 28 per cent anticipated “significant improvement”. Eighty-four per cent of the respondents predicted their pre-tax profit in 2018 to rise compared to last year, helping the average growth rate of the entire banking system to reach 18.2 per cent, lower than the 19.3 per cent forecast in the previous survey conducted in the first quarter of this year.
