On Thursday night at Beacon Park in Detroit, "Detroit Tigers: The Roar of ’84,’" Lancaster’s documentary about the Detroit Tigers’ 1984 World Series championship team was screened for the first time. “It took a while before it became a reality,” Lancaster said. The showing, one of the opening acts of the festival, came with many of the key figures in attendance — including ’84 Tigers Kirk Gibson, Dan Petry and Dave Rozema — and shed an interesting look on the 35th anniversary of the Tigers’ last World Series championship.
