The recommendation was sent to the Ministry of Transport, but more details have not yet been specified by the group, Dong added. The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) previously sent the same proposal to the ministry. The new terminal would cost more than VND11.43 trillion (USD488 million) and ACV proposed to entirely cover the investment. ACV has also mentioned details of the project. If the proposal of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to build the third terminal for Tan Son Nhat International Airport is approved, the construction of the airport will be started in the third quarter of 2020. ACV awaits the prime minister's approval for the third terminal of Tan Son Nhat International Airport ACV has submitted a document to the Ministry of Transport (MoT) proposing the prime minister to approve the investment planning for Tan Son Nhat’s third terminal. Accordingly, the third terminal, which covers an area of 100,000 square metres, will handle 20 million passengers per year. The project will have a total investment capital of VND11.65 trillion ($506.5 million), invested by ACV and will be recouped within 23 years. The $10 million fund was approved by the Board of Trustees in December as pressure was mounting on the university to do something for the victims of serial sexual predator Larry Nassar. But the fund, the first overture by the university to assist Nassar victims and their families with counseling and mental health services, was frozen in late July when fraud was discovered. The fund had paid out $1,159,106.81 through June 30, before it was frozen. "It's a fund that is deeply troubled," Engler said during a meeting of MSU's Board of Trustees.
