“Dangerous” Hakimi brace gives Dortmund win at Slavia Prague

· October 2, 2019 ·

Hakimi scored twice to fire Dortmund to victory. (AFP/Michal CIZEK) With 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Hakimi - on loan from Real Madrid - sprinted down the right flank, wove his way through the Slavia defence into the box, fooled 'keeper Ondrej Kolar and blasted home left-footed. A minute before the final whistle, the 20-year-old Moroccan struck following another strong run and clinical finish with a low shot across goal to end Slavia's 24-game unbeaten streak in competitive games. "He played very well although he's not used to the position," Dortmund coach Lucien Favre said of Hakimi, who is a right-back by trade but started on the left wing. "He is very dangerous up front and we are happy with his performance, the two goals say it all. "We had drawn the last three games against Barcelona, (Eintracht) Frankfurt and (Werder) Bremen, so we're happy with the victory today, it was very important for us." Dortmund now top Group F with four points from two games, leading … [Read more...] about “Dangerous” Hakimi brace gives Dortmund win at Slavia Prague

· January 7, 2013 ·

Updated: June 28, 2014 When I began this crazy ride of traveling as much as physically and financially possible at 15, I was impressionable, excited and more than a little clueless. Over the last seven years I have had my share of small tragedies on the road: a pick-pocketing incident when I was stranded with no cash for three weeks, LICE (bleh), several cases of serious illness on holiday (and heartbreak) stand out as the most memorable. But overall I know that travel, despite its inevitable ups and downs, has changed me for the better. Here are all the ways that travel has permanently changed me. Table of Contents 1.
